Grrr Ruff Ruff Ruff!!!! Today at the dog park was just HILARIOUS. Since Dixie's spey she's been soooo full of beans! She barks at nearly every dog we meet at the park. It's kind of a "hello! Here I am!" barking. She stops as soon as the dog gets close enough to sniff - most dogs come up slowly as if to say "hmm, what kind of creature are you making so much noise?" Anyhoo - we're finishing the walk and there's couple walking their German Shepherd. And Dixie does her barking thing - she barks with such force that she sort of bounces across the grass - and this GSD turns tail and runs! LOL! We all fell about laughing - Dixie thought it was fantastic! and kept running at him barking. Thinking she was ALL THAT! I think the poor GSD was a little bit traumatised by Dixie the evil! |

 You know what they say......Yorkies are 50 lbs of dog in a 5 lb body:D |
He he he ! I wish I'd had a video - it was priceless! Dixie is much more aware of her size than Dougal - she makes up for it with noise though. Most people smile indulgently at her when she "goes feral". |
LOL! Eddie likes a woman who can take care of herself! Eddie did something similar one time when a stray dog wandered into our yard. I can't remember the breed, but it was big and looked wild. I panicked because Eddie was off leash. But Eddie barked like crazy and sprinted toward the dog. It turned tail and didn't stop running until it was around the corner. Eddie, wisely, stopped once he realized he had the problem under control. I swear that's going to be the death of him, though. He fears no dog. |
The smaller the dog the bigger the personality :) |
Dougal is my problem because he goes up to dogs quite confidently head and tail up. He'll be sniffing and tail wagging then he'll do this bark where he gnashes his teeth right next to the dog's mouth - It's a dominance thing - but one day another dog's going to take exception to it. There's only one dog at the park Dixie doesn't like. A husky that doesn't know how to play with little dogs. It has bowled her once or twice trying to get her to play - she makes this awful noise like the husky's killing her even though he's just standing there looking at her - waiting for her to run. I don't intervene because I know that both Dixie and the Husky have to sort themselves out. but it's hard. Dougal however loves being bowled over by big bouncy dogs - he's a weirdo. |
