Pee stains......... I came home today and was doing some house cleaning and noticed there was a dried up potty mark on my cream carpet  Is there anything I can put on it that may draw out the stain without damaging the carpet??? I dont have a problem getting the damp potty stains out but Gracie must have snuck away and pottied and I never caught it! Any suggestions???? |
1 bottle hydrogen peroxide, 1 tsp dawn dish soap, 1 tablespoon baking soda, takes the odor away..not sure about the stain. Mix together and pour on spot wait one day and sweep up. I used this on Cat pee and it takes away the ODOR so they don't go there.. again. I had to have prof. cleaners to get stains out of my carpet. |
Simple Solutions . . . that is all I use! It takes everything away! There was a thread on this about how good it was and now I am SOLD! I've had it for a while now and very, very happy. |
I'm a fan of simple solution also. Although I have found dried spots too and I spray them and scrub them with a cloth and the come right up However I have found some old stains from previous dogs and they don't come up I fear they will be with me forever. |
I love "Spot Shot" aerosol can and "Woolite Oxy Deep" spray, not sure, which is best. Never had a stain I couldn't remove with them. After using one of these, use a pet stain and odor remover such as "Natures Miracle" or Simple Solution with enzymes that actually eats away any protein left in carpet. This helps prevent pet from reusing the spot. Don't blot away the enzyme product, they must be allowed to air dry in order to work. I usually just use the enzyme products, but didn't know if this would work for you since the stain had set. A word about detergents such a dawn, these can set a stain in and also because the detergent is so very hard to remove every trace, they tend to attract regular dirt like mad. |
Count me in with the Simple Solution fans. I've used it for 10 years & it does the trick! It takes out stains, odors...you name it! I buy it in the gallon container because I never want to be without it. CJ |
I bought some Oxy Clean and I will try that....I will let u know if it works! |
Anti icky poo Its expensive but took out a 2 year old stain, I tried everything on that stain and nothing took it out but this. It was one of those mystery stains |

The Oxy clean is the way to go. Just mix up a little like the directions say. It's great on most stains. I even got the rust out of the sidewalk due to a leaky faucet. |

Petsmart & Petco both sell it. It really is a good product! |

Which Simple Solution Product? Which product is everyone talking about -- they seem to have so many choices: http://www.simplesolution.com/produc...stain&odor.htm They make an Oxy Solution -- says great to use on carpet. I too have a few stains that evidently went unnoticed. But I usually get them up with the Woolite Pet stain remover. If there is something better though, I am all for trying it. I always wonder if some of these stains are coming back on me over time. |

I use Nature's Miracle. They sell it at Petco and Petsmart. It works wonders on stains and odors. I swear by it! :) |

It's all basically the same product, just different versions of it! Stain & Odor Remover in the jug is what we use. It also makes Muffin not want to go back to that spot & that's a good thing. :) :) :) The other great thing about it is that it's a good laundry agent! If you've got any "organic" stains from two or four legged loved ones, it does the trick. CJ |
Thanks CJC -- I need to make a run in to Petsmart pretty soon and will pick some up to try. With two still working on the housetraining, I need all the help I can get. :) |

That's good to know. Nancy |
I recently had my carpets cleaned and the guy said to use white vinegar. Poor it on, let it set, and then get it up with a dry washcloth. Once youve done that, if the smell bothers you, you can rinse with water. Either way, once completely dry, the smell will go away. I have beige/white carpet too, works pretty good and a cheap solution. |
Target sells this stuff called 'Complete - Pet Stain and Odor Remover'. It works extremely well, even on the dried up stains. Another thing I use is white vinegar and water. Just mix some together, apply to a cloth, dab the stain and it's gone. |

Is this what you other guys are talking about also??? on sale now at www.PETCO.com http://www.petco.com/product/12348/S...Destroyer.aspx |
I haven't tried the others, but I know that Nature's Miracle works wonders. I was using Woolite, bought a bottle of the Nature's Miracle and it worked so much better. Even took up a stain that the Woolite didn't. Good luck, we have really light carpet with two dogs and a 5 yr old son. I know all about stains. LOL!!! |
