Well anyways for a while now she doesnt sleep with me at night just with my parents unless we are at the camp she sleeps with me then! I dont understand why i mean she is mine and it makes me feel like she doesnt like me or something! Does anyone know of any reason why she doesnt want to sleep with me anymore??? I feel like im losing my baby and just want her to sleep with me sometimes! |
Gracie Who takes care of Gracie during the day time? |
i go to school and my mom works mostly she might be with her one day a week if shes off otherwise she is home alone |
I have the same problem. I have had my yorkies for 3 yrs and 1+ years. I take care of them day and night, feed them, take care of them when they are sick (the little boy was very sick at one point)...............and my mom has moved in for a short time while in between houses and low and behold, they are stuck to her like glue (esp. the girl). Bella insists!!!! on sleeping with her, she cried in my room the first night, up and down from my bed, I got no sleep and figured, oh well, just let her. I dont take it personally, my dogs love me. I guess grandma is just "extra special". I guess I dont really have advise, but it will go back to me being "top dog" once my mom moves out. Good luck! |
My dogs always sleep with me as opposed to my husband (sometimes I have to sleep on the couch, his snoring on some nights is out of this world!). I attribute it to the fact that I am the one who feeds them, gives them treats and plays with them. I'm also home with them more than my husband is. |
thats what i dont understand she slept with me the first few months i had her and i loved it ... i feed her i bathe her i play with her and she still sleeps with them!i just wish i knew why lol! |

Believe me, I share your pain! My pups seem a little ungrateful! But I've decided to just accept it. It is what it is. Ungrateful brats!!:) |
At first Prince slept with me and hubby all the time, but since we have moved he just a few times has slept with us but 9 times out of ten he sleeps with my son, who is almost 4, or the other kids. I dont know if it is because we are upstairs now and he is just too lazy to go up them, or just because he loves the kids so so much, but either way as long as he's happy about where he is sleeping that is all that matters. |
Don't take it personally! :) Toto sleeps between my husband and me. She used to always sleep snugged up right against me and now she goes back and forth. Sometimes we wake up and she's glued to Patrick & we wake up again and she's glued to me! I am with her 24/7 and we seldom ever leave her, even for an hour or two. I provide all her needs ... food, grooming, attention, etc. until about 30 minutes before he is due home from the office. She watches for him out the window and the minute he walks in .... she's only "Papa's Girl"!!! :p The only time I get attention is if she has a need. So don't be offended ... it appears to be a Yorkie thing and we will never understand it!! [BTW .... she is 3 1/2 years old! ;) ] |

My Chanel is exactly the same, during the day she's a mommy's baby, i'm with them 24/7, hardly ever go places without them. She will not go to sleep till my husband get's to bed, she sits and waits for him. When it's time for him to come home, she sit's by the door, and waits for him. I no longer exist when he's home unless she has a need, or isnt feeling well, then she'll want me. Chelsey is my faithful mommy's baby, she needs me all the time. So no, don't take it personal, they are just like little kids, and they know who to suck up to ;) |

Maybe when you go to bed you could take her up with you and close the door, and hopefully she will just go to sleep with you then! |
Dogs in general have an inept way of sensing emotional needs. It could be one of your parents is having some type of stress issues, that you may not be aware of, and this is your dogs way of conforting that particular person. Right now your pup feels she is needed elsewhere to provide comfort. |
Sounds like your little girl is really a daddy's girl. I have Zada and Azrael who are both little fur-girls and Zada is a real daddy's girl, but she loves me just as much. She just prefers to snuggle on the sofa and in th bed with my husband. I think it's cute.:p |
