i just saw a hawk or something on my way home from dropping the kids off... should i be worried? |
Yep-do a search for "hawk" and you will find lots of posts about it here on YT. |
I would. Yesterday I saw the biggest bird fly over my house - not a hawk but wow was it big - I can easily see how hawks find small dogs attractive and after seeing the wing span of that unknown bird I would never take a chance and my girls are NOT tiny. |
We had a customer come into our office that told me to keep Abbie on a leash (I take her to work with me) because they had a small yorkie and a hawk grabbed it. He said the hawk dropped it but it was too late. She died from the fall. We live in an area where there are lots of hawks and we made a separate fenced in area and put netting over the top so Abbie can play outside. Hawks swoop down with such speed you don't even know what has happened until their gone. My parents live on a lake and my mom just recently saw a hawk grab a duck off of her boat dock. It couldn't pick it up, but it was trying to kill it on the ground. She has never seen this before. Be very very careful. |
Yes, I had a hawk hiding in the trees for three days trying to get my baby. It can be hard to see them. I do what I call a "hawk check" everytime I go outside. |
please be careful.... |
One time we had a little Boston Terrier that we were playing with in a large field when a hawk came diving down after here. Me and two of my boys ran in her direction yelling and waving our arms up high, but it was a close call. It isn't safe even at night. Owls often sit in trees around the neighborhood watching for cats and small dogs. They are a very heavy and strong bird and can lift things even a hawk can't. Be so careful! |
My neighbor told me just a couple of weeks ago that he had an owl in his back yard that was watching his dachsund, who is not a miniature. He said the owl even flew over him very close one time while he was outside. It is very scary - just be watchful. |
Yesterday morning when I had Rudy out on his leash to go, I saw a hawk with a huge wing span flying slowly over the house. Even though Rudy is 11 plus pounds I took him into the house. Wrote a note for my son and husband so when they left him out later on in the day to be carefull and watch out for that hawk. My husband laughed at me and said, Rudys too big for that to happen to him. Whoever on here said about the duck, "Thank You " :thankyou2 I am going to tell that to my husband tonight and see what he says then. I don't think we can ever be too carefull with our furbabies. :aimeeyork Rudys Mom (Dawn):animal-pa |
