Lillybelle videoclip-ringing her bell - "I NEED to go out!". I was trying to figure out my son's video camera when LillyBelle decided she needed to go out, so I just did a video clip of her ringing her bell--- heres the link.. its pretty cute-really. http://www1.snapfish.com/slideshow/A...53/t_=45247153 What do you think? She gets really adamat about it-if I dont come right away to let her out. |
OMG that is too CUTE!! What a clever little girl she is  |
GO Lillybelle! What a good girl!!! |
That was SO adorable and how smart !! I love the way you have the bell set up !! I may have to try that for little Cheri - she races thru my long hanging blinds and clatters them when she wants to go out |
That's GREAT!!! How did you teach her to do that? She's amazing! And what a pretty girl too! |
too cute.... sounds like a good idea to show Gizmo... .lol... his bell is the alarm...the alarm goes off and so does he .....lol |
Here's a copy/paste thread I submitted in December-when someone was asking about how to train to go out by ringing a bell. I taught LillyBelle to ring a bell to go out starting at about 5mos of age. I read about it hear on YT and decided to try. I first taught her to "go ding-ding", by taking her to the bell, ringing it with her paws, saying ding ding-then gave lots of praise and a teeny tiny piece of turkey (like the size of rice) probably did that about 10x, then about an hour later repeated the process, did the same thing the next day. It didnt take but 2-3 days, then when I say "go ding-ding" she would run to the door and ring the bell-I would praise her...HUGELY!! (is that a word?) and give her a tiny treat. Then I just went to the next step-every time I said go ding ding-she would ring the bell, then we would "go outside" to potty-when we went out I would say "go potty" The Ding Ding was much easier to teach than - going potty outside- She was probably a year so old before she was 100% potty trained. Now she ALWAYS rings her bell to go out...if we dont hear the bell--she REALLY REALLY rings it-she's 1 and 1/2 yrs now. ..Hope thats helpful. |
Omg....that video is so cute. I wanna try this with Molly.....she never lets me know when she has to go, instead she will just go in the house. I just know that my 1 1/2 yr old daughter will be playing with the bell too (LOL). At this point I will try anything to get Molly to let me know when she has to go, cause my hubby loves her, but is so mad that she keeps going to the bathroom in the house. Crystal |
THAHA! That was so CUTE! She is so adorable! |
Kizzy will beat the crap out of her bells to go out when she really wants out. I taught her at about 5 months old by putting a cheerio on the bell and took her paw and helped her hit the bells, then the cheerio would fall off and she would grab it , soon tho she hit them thinking a cheerio would fall but I would just open the door and she would run outside. I would give her the cheerios when she came back in and praise her. Now sometimes she drives me crazy beating the bells to go outside just because she loves going outside. She is 11 1/2 months old now and potties outside but some days she just beats them to get outside and play. I havent got maggie to ring the bells yet. she gets scared of stuff so easy. But she will bark to go outside. Now I make them both speak to go outside if im back there. If i'm not kizzy will still beat the crap out of the bells. |

That is so cute! Isn't it great when they use the bells??? I started training Jaxon last summer and he was a pro in no time! I remember the first time he rang on his own - it was such a proud moment!!!! :p He's funny now - if he really needs to go, he hits the bells HARD. If anyone is looking for bells, I ordered mine from www.poochiebells.com - they're exactly the right height. |
Am I the only one that can't get this to run? Any hints? Nancy |
That's the cuties thing ever!!! I bought *Poochie* Bells, and my girls were scared to death of them. I think maybe there were too many large bells on it. Anyway, they wouldn't go near the door with the bells hanging on the knob. Even when I finally gave up after a couple of months and gave them away, they wouldn't go near the door for days. :) |
Toby just bumps me with his front paws when he has to go out and if I ignore him, he bumps me again but just a wee bit harder! He's 100% trained!:) But very very cute video! |

Sorry if you have trouble seeing the clip-that was my first try at using the video camera-and even getting it to download-it does take a couple of clicks to play the clip. You may have to wait a moment and try again if someone is viewing it at the same time. Also-I just bought the pink (of course) boa rope, and an inch (i think) bell, ran it through half way and hung it on the doorknob. cost about 2.00. |
