I find hot oil treatments work better than conditioners. I was always brushing and combing Azrael since her hair is so thick and it also matts easily, till I started doing a hot oil treatment on her and Zada due to the dry winter air that causes itchy's. Well it works like a charm. Her hair is soft and she isn't matting. I use All Systems shampoo, and was using the conditioner as well. (they also get cod liver oil every day for skin and coat) :) |

Thanks for the tip. I just spent the last hour and a half. Trying to get mats out and I brush everyday. Next I may just have to get the haircut. |

Try the hot oil treatment first. I just put it in a small glass of water and heat it up for 30 seconds after their bath, towel dry, apply hot oil, wrap in a dry towel for 5 minutes then just rinse. They are so soft, plus they smell so nice. I use the Sally's brand of oil in those tiny plastic bottles. Boy does it ever smell nice. |

You are all going to simply LOVE how your baby's coat will feel and smell. The hot oil treatments work perfectly on their hair. |
Can you use any brand of hot oil treatment? Or is one brand better than another? |
Thats what I was wondering too. I am going to try this. We have VO5 hot oil treatment at My CVS Pharmacy |
I use VO-5 and Sally's brand. I love them both, but I like useing the Sally's brand best because of how it makes them smell.:) |
where do you get the sally's brand |
At Sally's. Go to any of your beauty product stores and ask what hot oil has a nice smell to it. Usually it's their brand. |

I'm going to try this on Kitty today. Is it ok to use on a 5mo old pup too? If it is Alexis is going to get a bath today too and I'll use some on her too.:) |

Question.... Do you shampoo first then do the hot oil or do you do the hot oil first then shampoo? |
