Behavioral problems linked to nutrition deficiency? So I was researching vitamins and minerals for dogs on the internet and I kept coming up to the same sentences and many articles. Many of the articles I was reading kept mentioning that vitamin defiency could potentially be the cause of many behavioral problems. The reason being that many vitamins stimulate proper brain function and when dogs are missing those nutrients, their brains don't function to it's full capicity/extent, therefore making it harder to potty train, teach tricks, understand consequences. It made sense to me, what do you guys think? |
It makes a lot of sense. Does it mention which vitamins inparticular they need. Are tyhey in the food or do you need to give them to them separatly? |
At this website they go over what vitamins and minerals do what in every part of the body and how you know whether your dog is deficient or has excess http://dels.nas.edu/banr/cd_dog_vit.html |
Absolutely, especially in pregnant and lactating mothers, as well as puppies. Nutrients, vitamins and minerals, are extremely important to the developing brain. On the other hand, even the worst dog food is probably better than the food that the typical child receives. Fast food and processed food, I'm sure have added to the behavioral problems we are seeing in children. Nancy |
It makes sense to me. It may not be totally obvious because they are not totally deficient, but I can see how not having enough of a certain vitamin or mineral would be adding to problems such as potty training, chewing, etc. |
