Poor Candi, I hope she gets better soon and we will keep praying for her. I think I would be the same way if my baby was sick, or not feeling well:( I would be worried sick and right by her side:(

Oh V, you are good!! I hope to get a positive update very soon. Just checking up on our ladies here! I hope Candi is making progress, and I hope Tricia gets some rest tonight!

Villette thank you so much for posting an update. You are a wonderful friend and a true angel.

I also want to thank everyone else for all your concerns, well wishes, and prayers. This place is really special, thanks to all you wonderful caring people.

Candi's fever did come back during the night and she still had a fever when I got there this morning. It has broke again this evening and lets just hope is stays gone. I did take her to a different ER with a neurologist on call. I did meet him today and he went over all Candi's xrays and blood work. He found a tiny hairline fracture. He said that with all the inflammation on her little head that that is why her head is so hot and causing her fever. (kinda like when someone has joint inflammation the joints fever) He changed her meds to an IV anti-inflammatory ( I believe Rimadyl or something like that) He put her on a very strong antibiotic (that will probably make her sick to her little belly) He said he really believes she will be fine in a few days and that her being so skittish is just that, she is very scared.:( He will be back at 7 am and I am meeting him there (oh this new place is almost 2 hour away) He also said that by giving the anti-inflammatory thru an IV that we should see result very quickly and hopefully by morning and when the inflammation starts to go away he believes her fever will stay away to.

I was told not to get my hopes up, but if there is improvement (noticeable improvement) by morning she can come home tomorrow afternoon. She will remain on the meds (pill form though) for another 5 days after she comes home.

My regular vet was notified of everything and he called my cell today to apologize and he has talk to the ER vets (the ones I left today not the new one, this guy is expensive) and they are only charging me for the materials and meds used. So I am getting over $500 back from them. I wasn't going to asked to be refunded anything, I just want my baby home but yeah finally something good.

Anyway, after my Sweet Angel Face Baby Pumpkin Butt Girl comes home my girls are going in a plastic bubble and never coming out. I can not take no more over night vet visits. :D

Again thank you all soooo much, I am going to try to sleep for a couple hours, my super hubby took off today and tomorrow to help me with some of the running to and from and taking my skin girls to and from school.

V, I was going to call ya but wasn't sure what time you go to bed.

I missed this but sometimes that is a good thing -- you get to the end and hear the good news. I'll be praying Candi gets better fast and is able to get her little booty home as soon as possible.

OH NO, for your baby! After Mazie's "blow to the head" incident, I feel like this could have been ME, so your story is extra scary and poignant for me!

And I have to say YAY for you being a good mommy, being her advocate, and pursuing this even when you were sort of given the brush off! And YAY for your your vet calling and apologizing...I'm sure they felt terrible, and while of course you only care about getting your baby back safe, the $$$ compensation is nice!

Tricia, I'm so glad Candi has been properly diagnosed and is now getting the right treatment. :thumbup: Thank goodness she has you for a mommy. And thank goodness that you followed your instinct when you knew that something wasn't quite right with her wanting to be held so much!!!

Hopefully Candi comes home tomorrow and this whole nightmare will be behind you forever. Until then I'm praying for you and your family and of course for Candi. :hands: :hands: :hands:

Oh Tricia, I'm so sorry you and Candi had to go through this. I feel so neglectful that I missed your initial thread and just found this one this morning. Please know that I will be praying for a full recovery for your little sweet babyface angel pumpkin butt girl:) . I know you were being very careful and it warns me to be more careful than I have been.
