I shave the inside and outside (about 1/3 ) I have never had a problem with their ears standing. Do you shave her ears...

By the way...She is adorable!

Yes, they do! If you could have seen them last week as compared to this week, you would see a big change. I do feel that they will stand, I'm hoping anyway.:p
I haven't trimmed the hair on her ears at all...I may have to try that just to see if it will help. Thanks for the advice!

I haven't touched her fur as far as cutting or trimming goes. I might have to give a couple of these tricks a try, just to see.;)

Pepe mint- Thanks! I just viewed the link to the ear taping thread, and that looks and sounds simple enough, I might just give that a try...it only took 24 hours for that to work? For some reason, I was thinking that I would have to leave them taped up for a week or longer or something..if it that simple, it surely couldn't hurt to give it a try.
By the way, your Maggie is adorable.

Don't leave the tpe on for over three days
Moisture could build up and cause and infection
I think shaving them real close will bring them right up
I'd try that first and then try taping if the shaving doesn't work

JeanieK-Thanks so much for posting your pictures, your furbaby is so beautiful...I'm amazed at how much they change within a year! I have a feeling that Daisy may turn out to have a large amount of the steel blue color in her coat.

Ok, I think I will try the shaving first...does that make them look strange for a little while?? lol
Her ears (to me) do seem like they are trying their best to stand up, because I keep a very close eye on her, and can see changes in her ears every few days.
I'm loving all thsi advise, I so appreciate everyone's help!

I agree about the shaving. I first shaved the top third of my girl's ears. One stood, the other seemed to fold right at the end of the shaved tip. So, I bought the breathe Right strips and eyelash glue. Before i used them I shaved the rest of the ear inside and out. I decided to wait til the next day to put the strips in but ..... the next morning both ears were up nice as you please. So, it was just the weight of the hair keeping her ears down.

Her ears are trying to go up on their own, butthe heavy hair is a problem.,..trim them well...but there is no need to shave the entire ear to the base as some do...
Look at the color of the hair under the black...I am almost sure it is gold...

How interesting! The Breathe Right strips and eyelash glue! lol
This is so helpful...giving Daisy's ears a little push to stand couldn't hurt. I am totally going to try this.At first, I wasn't, because I thought there was much more involved than there really is, this seems simple to me..and I see no problem with any of it.

And yes you are right, I just took a really good look at her hair, and swept the top layer back out of the way, and yep..it is completely gold under those black sprinkles of hair here and there. I feel kinda dumb..lol...but like I said...my first time with the Yorkie breed, so I am still learning.:) Thanks YorkieRose!

Don't feel bad...I have yet to meet anyone, even the top breeders in the country came into the world with any "inborn" knowledge of Yorkies...everything is learned on the job..
