Heath Certified? I ran across a site where they said their dogs were: Liver Shunt Certified NORMAL, CERF'ed Normal eyes, OFA Patella Certified knees, and DNA'ed. Is all this possible. |
Wow! Sounds like a good deal. I have no idea if this is possible or not. You can get a liver shunt test, but what is the eye thing all about? Do Yorkies have bad eyes? |
I don't know if they get bad eyes. I was actually researching biewers yorkies and that is what the breeder said. I think they even have a two year health gaurantee. |
wow.... that sounds like a good guarantee........ |
yeah, but is it too good to be true? |
thats a good point........ how much are they selling pups for anyways????? with all that in the guarantee it has GOT TO BE an expensive dog |
Thats what I was thinking too. The price has to be high with all that testing. |
What exactly is a liver shunt? Is this related to puppies only? Please tell me it is as I have a three year old, and this would make me feel better. It seems like all I do is worry about my Yorkie and her health. Kate , a sn Quote:

certs Yes, these certs are done..BUT it does NOT mean the parents will not produce pups with these problems..so many genetic problems are recessive genes..and that means they can skip generations. I would pick a pup from certified grandparents over the parents if I had a choice. When they say DNA'ed..they are talking about for ID purposes..there are no DNA genetic tests for Yorkies as yet. liver shunt..healthy parents can produce LS pups...liver shunt pups for the most part to do not produce anything, they are too ill. If your Yorkie has not shown any symtoms at 3 yrs, I doubt there is a LS problem. |
