What Kind of FOOD do you feed your baby? Ok I just put a deposit on my new baby, and I pick her up this week!!!!! YEAH!!!!! Can you tell I?m really excited lol!!!! But anyways the breeder feeds her eukuniba or how ever you spell it. She is also giving me a bag of it so I can feed my baby that when I take her home. But my sister has a Maltese and feeds her Royal Canine, which I heard is really good. But what is the best food, so I can get it for my CoCo and start mixing it with her food. Thanks all Suzanne |
I don't know what the best food is, but I feed Simon Solid Gold Wee Bits, and Innova EVO. There are some people on here that can help you with this, so I will help bump you up. |
from the posts i have read i have seen that royal canine and chicken soup were very very good. i feed my baby nutro natural choice which she loves. i like it bc it is good for her and i can get it at the pet store (which is important for me bc i am traveling ALL the time). if i could though i would probably go with one of the other two......oh and just tonight i ordered this stuff called missing link, its a food supplement that is supposed to be very good for them. if you want it i can tell you the site that everyone has told me is the cheapest......a lot of people on here say that LOVE it..... |
Royal Canin isn't great. It has corn in it. I'm not sure why people think it's good? Get Innova, Merrick, Solid Gold, Canidae, California Natural... There are a lot of great foods out there. Just read the labels. Opt for ones with meat as the first ingredient, no corn and NO by products or artificial preservatives. What stores do you have available to you? That might make things easier. Petsmart and Petco don't carry the good brands. Do you have a small local independent store? There is no single best food. Some people feed top-quality kibble (of many brands) and some people feed raw. You might put your dog on the same lamb & rice formula that my dog loves and find out she is allergic to it and you need to feed chicken & potato. Or whatever. There isn't a #1 food. There are about 20 great brands out there and about 5-10 are fairly easy to get your hands on. If you want to feed wet(canned) food, feed Merrick. It won (and deserved) Food of the Year 2007. |
My boys eat Nutro small chunks Lamb and Rice. |

Stedman eats Chicken Soup For The Puppy Lover's Soul - it is a WONDERFUL quality food. He also gets Missing Link sprinkled on top. For treats, he gets Nutro Ultra Holistic Nutrition Puppy Biscuits - broken into teeny tiny pieces of course ;) Congratulations on your new baby! :) |
My boys eat chicken soup and they love it! I don't think you could go wrong with anything that is mentioned here tho. They are all good. |
I give Solid GOld Puppy dry food. :) |
I feed Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier mostly. Sometimes cooked chicken with vegetables for a change. |
We are feeding Chicken Soup for the Puppies Lover's Soul right now as the main food/kibble. I also give them a little canned Nutro Max each day, usually a little cottage cheese, and occasionally some Natural Balance meat roll. I would like to get the canned Chicken Soup for Puppies too but have not found it here. Innova and Canidae are very good foods and mine liked them okay. They did not like Natural Balance dry or the Life's Abundance. Other dogs here love them though, so you just have to try some of the premium brands and see what their preferences are. |
I live in Austin, Tx. So if anyone knows of a good place to buy the food ya'll are suggesting I would love it. I just want to get CoCo good food she will like, and that would be good for her growth and development. I am a new mommy to puppies. Thanks Suzanne and soon to be CoCo Yasmine Channel |
I have been feeding my girls Eukenuba small breed...just recently switched to Royal Canin and I will tell you what, they LOVED it. As soon as I put it down my girls ate it right up! I love that it has chicken, apples, blueberries and vitamins. |
