Can't do a thing with my hair... 2 Attachment(s) First I want to say thanks... whenever I have a question or concern about Mocha I come here first and do a search and there is all the answers I need. This site is such an excellent source of information. Mocha (5 months old) hates baths and grooming and it's driving me nuts! Our routine is every Monday morning once the girls are off to school it's bath time. She's learned to hide behind the couch. She wiggles the whole time I try to trim her nails and trimming her hair is such a dreaded task. She is brushed twice a day and I've learned to do it after a good playtime when she is worn out. But how in the world do you get the ponytail in? Her bangs are getting long and need to be pulled up. I've bought ouch less bands, barrets and clips and she just won't stay still long enough for me to get them in. Is it just her age or am I doing it wrong? Is there a different kind of brush I should be using? HELP... hair emergency! |
To make my Miko's ponytail, I use a fine comb instead of a brush works better:) |
What if you just got the groomer (or yourself if you felt comfortable) to slightly trim off her bangs? I have the groomers do that with my two, and not only does it make things a lot easier, IMO it looks really good. |
Grooming troubles I have the same problem. Piper acts like I am killing him when it comes to cuts, or top knots. Our groomer can do the knot. I have no idea how she does it, but she said Piper acts like he is getting a paw cut off. I try, but I have to hold him so tight, I feel like I am going to break him! He crie:( s about the combing nightly. But, we still do it and I try not to let him get away with too much misbehavior. |
If you don't want to cut his bangs, you must not let him win. Mylo whom is also 5 months old, used to act the same, but I never gave up. After a few weeks things were a lot better, he still hates getting his hair brushed but when in come time to putting his hair on a ponytail... he actually stays still ...LOL... I think he knows that after that it will be all over...:rolleyes: Just be patient things will get a lot better. |
Comb her hair during non-grooming together times. When she's laying in your lap, or napping, just casually comb through the hair on her head. That's all. No pulling, struggling or Topknot. Then, one day just do a topknot during that time, and see if she's more receptive. Good Luck! |

1 Attachment(s) I have to brag on my girls. sorry, but they are pretty good girls about their baths and combing. But they didnt like the brush I had. I am so proud of them as I am not much of a groomer and if they werent so good, can you imagine how much worse their hair would look when I do it, than it does now? LOL, I would just give up on them I think and keep it short. I can never get their bows in straight, no matter how good or still they are for me. these bows are as good as i've ever gotten them to look and that was luck. :cool: But I keep on keeping on trying. sorry yall, I havent made any pics since Christmas of them. :confused: I don't know why, but I'm gonna soon make a few more, one day. The ones I would like to take ,they are already out of that position by time I get my camera. |
