We're Getting a New Baby!
 

I am SO pleased to announce that we are going to be adding a new Yorkie to our family. We have decided to get Rocha, the 9-month old tiny half Biewer Yorkie from Pam Hinkle in Kansas. We are totally excited to get this sweet, sweet little girl. Ever since I saw the pictures of Rocha that Pam posted a while back, I have been in love with this little girl. I could not get her out of my mind and held out hope that I would be able to convince my hubby that she would be a wonderful addition to our family. Everyday I would look YorkieTalk to see if someone purchased her. I was so elated when my husband was finally convinced that it would be a good move to get this little honey girl. And in a few weeks she will be in her new home with big brother Biscuit and big sister Muffin. I am on cloud nine!!

Pam seems like a wonderful breeder who truly loves her dogs and treats them like her babies. I was very impressed with her when we spoke tonight and I have every confindence in her.

For those of you who have three dogs, I may be needing some advice. I don't think three will be too much harder than two, but I may have to grow another arm so I can carry them all at once! When I brought my two to the groomer this morning I got to thinking about how fun (?) it's going to be to take three of them to the groomer at once. YIKES!!

When I bring Rocha home I will post pics.

a big congratulations. I dont think I want more than 2 at a time, but thats just me. my two play so good together I would be scared to add another as these two fight to see who gets the most attn but I think its pretty even as everybody that comes here pets them both if they pet one, and so do we, and I'm not sure we would have enough hands and laps to provide 3 with that much attn. LOL, especially since both of mine get lap time with the man when he gets home from work everynight. they all go to sleep in his recliner until I wake them for bed time while I do other stuff. It works out well for us, two of us and two of them. LOL but i'm happy for those that have more than 1 or 2 if thats what they want.

CONGRADULATIONS!!! So, are you going to change her name to Cupcake? I vaguely remember you're mentioning your wanting to add a new edition and possibly calling her Cupcake. How COOL is that!!! Can't wait to see pictures.

Thanks for the replies. I am so excited that I hardly slept a wink last night. I had visions of three puppies dancing in my head!! Just thinking about all the ways that things will change for us here was overwhelming. I know that Rocha will be fine because she's used to being with a lot of other dogs, but my two are going to have their little worlds rocked - BIG TIME. But I don't think it will take long for them to accept her as one of the 'pack'.

As far as hooking up the link to the thread that would show you Rocha, I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe someone here could help me out with that and post the link. I know she's in the Yorkies for Sale or Wanted section under "Tiny Female for Sale in Kansas".

We haven't decided if we are going to change her name yet. We are talking about it. I know I had talked about naming another one 'Cupcake' but for some reason, she doesn't look like a 'Cupcake' to me. I think we will wait until we get her and see. Does anyone know if it's difficult to change a dog's name when they are a little older?

I know you'll be able to pick another name once you see her. Just start calling the dog that with Come, ###--and reward with a treat every time she recognizes her name.

Congratulations, Rocha or Cupcake is adorable. I have 3 dogs and don't consider it more work then two, especially since your new addition isn't a 12 week old puppy. You will enjoy her, she sounds very sweet and is a beauty.

Congrats!!! I emailed back and forth with Pam on Rocha but decided to try locally so I am so glad you are getting her she is a beauty. That's funny she is coming to the Chicago area where I also live.

I wanted to post on this thread to let you know I have found THE PERFECT home for Rocha. I know she will be loved and spoiled just like I do here at my home. I have had many inquires about my little girl and to be honest I knew immediately she was to go to Chicago. We have the exact same philosophy on how to love and care for our dogs. I know Rocha will make the transition very well. I may not do so well but she will do great. I am letting Rocha go and a little girl that is one of our babies that was born 7/23/06 will be leaving me this month too. She is very tiny and needed more time here in Kansas with us. She has a wonderful new mommy in Reno waiting for her. That too is the perfect place for our Angel. So as the days start to count down I am enjoying every last minute I have with them and getting them ready to make the change as best I can. I am so lucky that neither of these little ones will be shipped. Both new mommies are flying in to pick them up. That is extremely important to me when the puppy is as small as they are. I have bombarded Rocha's new mommy with pictures and videos the last 24 hours. Here are a few I sent to her. These will be the last I post of Rocha her new mom an dad will now have that privilege!!!!

Congrats! I am soooo happy for you!!!!! And having 3 will make you laugh so hard!!!!! I have 3....my 3rd being my biewer I brought into my home....she was instantly loved by my 2 boys! 3 is soo much fun! A bit harder to walk all 3 at once, but you will get used to it! And you will get your system that works for you!

My 3 play sooo well together, they sleep all cuddled up with each other, they share their food soo well. You will love it!!!!!!

Just wanted to thank everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I would never have been able to feel comfortable with getting a third dog if it wasn't for all of you who have given me a WEALTH of information and knowledge on this wonderful breed of dog. And Pam, thank you for your faith in me as Rocha's new mommy. As we have talked about, I promise to love her with all my heart and take very good care of her. I love her already and she's not even here yet. I fell in love with her the minute I saw her first pictures and knew even then that I had to have her.

I must tell you too that I have hardly slept the last few nights because I just can't stop thinking about Rocha and how I will she will fit in with Biscuit and Muffin. I could really use some help from the experts on this site in how to introduce her to them. I will more than likely be returning home with her after dark and it's also winter so I may not be able to do the introductions outside in the back yard. Any suggestions?
