cheerios I hear everyone talking about cheerios, is this a good snack for my gracie, and are they talking about the human cereal:animal-pa , if so how much can she have?:aimeeyork |
Yes, Cherrios - the cereal. Use them as you would treats. You can use any of the flavors. |
I use Cheerios to distract Pepper while combing... Works like a charm and I like them as they're not as filling as other snacks. |
I give them to Gracie as a treat. I also mix them in with her vanilla yogurt for a special bedtime snack. I only give her a few. She loves the Honey Nut. |
When I first got lex honey nut cheerios was my treat and training choice. I also gave him a handful at night as a snack to keep his blood sugar up over night. They love it and it's a good snack. |
I use the Cheerios for treats also, Gaby loves them. Also when she needed to have medicine, it was small enough to fit inside the Cheerio and was gone with no fuss. Gaby will do about anything for a Cheerio. Bell doesn't get as excited, but she will eat them anyway. |
I use the plain Cheerios, used the Honeynut once and he went nuts, too much sugar for him. I give him one after he goes potty outside or on a pee pad. I use to give him a regular dog treat, but they interfered with his appetite. He seems quite happy with one. Also use them for regular training and grooming. Nancy |
Cheerios are great - just the perfect size! I've used these alot with Jaxon as well as Honeycomb cereal. |
Cheerios are wonderful as treats and incentives! I tried it after reading about it on here and was able to teach Tatum to chase and catch a frisbee (one of those soft small ones) within about 15 minutes! She also loves catching the Cheerios when I throw them to her. I like them because they are a lot less filling and "all natural"! The Honey Nut ones would be good for young or smaller pups because they need their sugar but we use the plain ones. |
Muffin loves plain Cheerios as well. They are easy to keep on the counter in a small container with a lid. If she sees the entire box of Cheerios, forget about it, she goes crazy! I finally figured out I needed to put them in a something else so she doesn't always know when they're coming. Plus, when she runs off with something (i.e. a Bounce sheet, a piece of Kleenex, a sock from the dryer, etc.) she knows the sound the container makes when I shake it. She drops what she's got in her mouth & high-tails it to the kitchen for a Cheerio treat! C.J. |

I've been giving my little guy cheerios and never knew others used them for treats. I love the vanilla yogurt ones and give him the plain ones whenever I have my cereal. Whenever I eat he wants something too. This is one people food I've always given him. Glad to know I made a good choice. |
I can never pull out that big yellow box of cheerios for my breakfast without both my babies going wild for some! If I want to get their attention, I just whip out that big yellow box:D They'll drop anything for a cherrio! |

I use pennies in a tin for those times when "No" is not enough. The other day, I shook the tin and the lid came off, pennies flying everywhere. I thought I had found them all, but 3 days latter he still brings me the occasional penny in exchange for a cheerio. Nancy |
I put the plain cheerios in Buddy's kong toy with other treats. The do come out easily but with the other treats in there it keeps him occupied when I leave the house in the morning. Carol & Buddy |
