New Baby Good Morning all. We have a small Yorkie Baby girl (3 .8 pounds) and last night we adopted a new one. :D She is 3 years old and weights about 8 pounds. They seem to be okay with each other so far, but because of the weight difference, what should I watch for if there are going to be problems? The next question I have is about Bell's (the new babies) coat. The people we adopted her from did not take very good care of her. :( Her coat is matted around her hips and back side. They said it was because she would not let them brush her. Well, I gave her a bath when we got home and she seems to really like that and when it came time to brush her, she let me, but did not like to have her hips or back sides brushed. I am not sure if this is because it is so matted or some other reason. I am thinking of taking her to the groomer and have her clip fairly short and start over and see if the mats are the cause. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks, Nancy, Gaby and Bell |
Welcome to YT and congratulations on your new baby. I would take her to the groomers and get a puppy cut and start from there. Brush her every day until she gets used to it and let her coat come in. Maybe by the time it does she will be more comfortable being touched in that area. Good luck Carol & Buddy |
I agree 100%! Just get it cut short, let it grow out and continue to brush her daily... even with the short hair. It'll help prepare her for brushing when the coat gets longer. :D |
