I want to see some pics too. We are planning a vacation but dont know if I will be able to take my babies:( Did you take your babies and if you did where did you stay?? ;) |

Didn't you just love it?! We took our two boys summer before last for 2 weeks. My favorite is the water parks,Typhoon Lagoon is the greatest, so relaxing. We didn't have but one dog then, our chi, so we boarded her. I will never do that again, it was so hard on her. if you took your fur baby, where did you stay? We loved Florida and want to go back so we can tour more of the state. last time we also went to daytona, Clear Water, and Tampa. We went in july so it was HOT, I think i lost 10 lbs. from all of the walking at the parks in that heat. Did you take kids(I didn't know if you have kids)? My boys were 12 and 9 when we went, a great age. Glad you made it home safely, would love to see pictures. |

Yeah, we love Orlando. And the summer is soooo hot. I will not even attempt the parks in the summer. We could not take our babies this time. But another Yter gave me some info on housing that does allow pets(it was too late for us to change our reservations) I will look that up and post it on the thread. Our children are 13 and 6 so they love going. Our little one never wants to ride anything though. |

Tink, have you checked into renting an RV, if you can't find a place that takes pets. We concidered that, but my parents live pretty close and Tonee and Gypse visited with them. |

I wish Disney was more dog friendly. They do not have a single hotel on their property that accepts dogs. You can have dogs in one area of their campground, but we don't camp. Universal's Hard Rock Hotel accepts pets, but we love Disney. They have a pet boarding place where you can leave your dog while you are at the parks, but they have a rule that you have to walk your dog every 3 hours, or something like that. By the time you traveled to the pet place every 3 hours and walked your dog, you sure wouldn't have much time to stand in line for attractions! I wish i could afford a dog nanny to travel with us, to take care of the boys while we do stuff they wouldn't enjoy! |

I think a lot more places are going to have to become pet friendly. They are no longer just the family pet, but a family member. More people are very attached to pets, this will require businesses and such to change the way they look at and receive pets. I am sure it will not happen over night though. That is not to say that many have not felt that way about pets for years, but more people are wanting to take pets everywhere that they go. The pet pampering business is booming. I know that as kids our dog was just the dog, but as an adult with yorkies, these are my babies. I hope that our devotion to our yorkies rubs off on our children. :animal36 I did notice the kennel at each park, I did not know that you had to go every three hours. So did they just lock them up and wait for you to come back.Iwould expect more from Disney. I have never been a fan of kennels, I guess sometimes you do not have a choice. We are lucky to have family close by. |
