Sean always sleeps on our bed with us. Other Yorkies that I've had slept with us until they were much older and had a difficult time getting on/off the bed and preferred their own beds (by my side of the bed). So nice to have the little ones snuggling next to me!! |
Both our Yorkie and Maltese sleep with us in our bed. The Yorkie always has to be right next to you but the Maltese takes the foot of the bed as hers! We went so far as to get stairs so that they could get up and down......yep they are spoiled! And issues that were mentioned in an earlier post are not issues in our family!!! I BE PACKLEADER, AND I SAY THEY SLEEP IN MY BED!!! |
I believe a trainer will tell you not to let your dog sleep with you (a trainer I spoke with told me not to let Sadie sleep with us because of the Alpha dog thing) we are having dominance issues with her since we got Lillie. Although we haven't stopped her from sleeping with us she has gotten much better...I am doing everything else she said but, I can't put her in a crate now...she has been sleeping with us for the past 2 1/2 yrs...Sadie is 3 now...So...Yes...Sadie sleeps with us...curls up into my armpit and goes to sleep...Lillie sleeps in her crate...she isn't as big as Sadie and I'm afraid she will fall off the bed. |
Yes two of mine do and the other choose to sleep in their own beds. But, I my daughter did roll over her kitten and smoother the little thing So it could happened But, I too was not strong enough they cried in there crates and I went running |
Tetley sleeps in his pen at the foot of our bed and only is allowed on the bed for naps. When it's bunking down for the night time, in the pen he goes. I sometimes scoop him up for some cuddle time in bed just before it's time to get up. |
Well....if it's NOT a good idea - OOPS!! :p Cause Stedman soooo sleeps with us, LOL - and we wouldn't have it any other way! :D (And trust me - neither would he LOL ) He will sit and bark at us ALL-NIGHT-LONG if we do not pick him up and put him in the bed with us...I'm TELLING YOU - he is the DEFINITION of S.P.O.I.L.E.D! :p |
Absolutely! Jazzie sleeps on our bed every night, she like to sleep between us and on the pillow. I some times I wake up with her tushie in my face! Au de Yorkie Butt! |
She does get mad when we shut her out of the bedroom when mommie & daddy wants some "alone" time.:D |
Scruffles is 1 year old and he made the transition from his crate to our bed, back in October. He's a sound sleeper and will lay in the bed as long as we do. The initial concern is that since my husband works nights and doesn't get home until 4 a.m., I thought that Scruffes would constantly want to play at that hour of the morning, or growl if unsure of who's entering the house, but neither has happened. He stays asleep. No accidents and he's never woken me to get up either. Even when he was in his crate he's always been a good sleeper. From day one that we brought him home he's always slept straight through the night with no crying. Scruffles lays next to me curled up against my back and on top of our duvet. |
As long as they are potty trained they can sleep on the bed with me. Right now I have Destiny and Trixie sleeping on the bed with me. Peppi prefers her own bed which is on the floor next to my bed but on an occasion she will sleep in my bed with me. Scampers sleeps in the bed with me too, but Destiny is in heat so he is sleeping is his crate for now. Once Destiny is completely out of heat, he will be back to sleeping on the bed with me. They say not to let your dog sleep on the bed with you because it will harm your alpha role as the pack leader. But I don't believe this to be true one bit. All my dogs accept me as the pack leader and having them sleep on the bed with me doesn't make any difference. It is hard to resist, they have such cute faces and love cuddling and sleeping on the bed with me. |
Tink sleeps in her crate but I put in on my bed or she cries. Maybe when she's potty trained, she can sleep in the bed if she wants too. My poodle used to sleep behind my knees. It feels funny without him there now. |

Yes, right next to me.........along with the poodle and cat. lol |
We have 2 yorkies and a Jack Russell who thinks she is a yorkie in bed with us every night. It is a King size bed and they are little. They do sleep on top of our blankets. They have little baby blankets if they are cold. We also have a small doggy bed in the middle of the foot of the bed. One may start in there but by morning they are all over us. Mine are clean, I have never had one with worms except the JR when we brought her home as a puppy (of course she had to stay off everything until those were gone), and they do not potty in the bed. One morning after we first got Sadie we laughed because she had obviously got up in the middle of the night. There on the top of their ramp to the bed was a tiny poop -- well at least it was not in the bed! Now she has a pad at the bottom of the ramp -- just in case. As for the amorous times? They can vacate for a while. ;) They don't like it but that is one time when it is not "all about the dogs." :) |
