Is this a yorkie? 1 Attachment(s) I know this is a tough picture to see, but I am in talks with a person about possibly buying their puppy. What do you think? I saw a video of him, and he's small, but the nose makes me question it. Thanks all! |
Not a great picture but I find it a bit iffy there. I wouldn't think it was a yorkie pup (jmo) |
It's really difficult to tell, but it looks like a yorkie/dachsund mix to me. |
It looks like it could be a yorkie mix but not a purebred yorkie |

ditto -- he is a real cutie, though |
He's part Yorkie that's for sure. Did they say how old? He's a real cutey! Nancy |

thats what i thought |
OMG! Whatever he is he is just adorable! |
He REALLY looks like a Dorkie to me! And NO - not a "DORK" lol - I mean part Yorkie, part Dachshund = Dorkie :p I have both a Yorkie AND a Mini Dachshund, and it most DEFINITELY looks like that mix to me! Of course I'm not positive, but I WOULD bet money on it! ;) He's a cutie!! |
Thanks all, that's what I thought. I didn't think he was a purebred. They said that he's 9 weeks old, and 2 lbs. But again, he looks more than 2 pounds to me! |
Dorkie 1 Attachment(s) Here is a picture of a Dorkie (Yorkie/Dachshund mix) - if you ask me, this is exactly what the little guy in your picture is! :p |
I agree a mix... Does look like a "dorkie".. |
Are they claiming he's purebred? Nancy |
That's what they are claiming. I asked for more pictures. |
I definitly think it's a yorkie mix. I would ask to see both of the parents. |
I immediately thought dorkie too as soon as I saw him, before I even scrolled down to see others' responses. |
He certainly does look like the yorkie/dachshund mix! Almost identical...it's the ears I think that distinguish the look...they seem farther apart than a yorkie. The nose as well looks different. He is cute, though, that's for sure! :) |
My first thought was yorkie/dachsund mix too. He has the snoot of a little weinie :) He is cute, though. |
The pup is adorable. But I had to agreed that looks like a Yorkie mix. |
I think he is a dorkie to I had one for 13 years. His nose is to wide and his ears are to big I think . What does everyone else think |
also my dorkie only weighed 4 1/2 lbs. so she was small like a yorkie |
He's a cute puppie with yorkie markings and not that it matters but is he registered? Will they let you see the parents? |

It's too cute, but I don't like the fact that they are trying to sell as purebred. Also, the fact that they sent you a dark picture is questionable. I wouldn't rely too much on the parents (as the ones they show you may not even be so). Good luck |

That is what I thought too. Are they trying to pass him off as pure bred yorkie? If not and you are ok with a mix then it's up to you:) Good luck:D Sorry I didn't read far enough, if they are trying to say he is pure bred I would say something is fishy there! |
He definately looks like he could use some love but I would not be paying purebred Yorkie prices for him. There might be some Yorkie in there but I think there is a whole lot of something else too. Some are not careful enough with their breeding. They may see them tie with another Yorkie but before or after they are also getting tied with the neighbor dog -- then you get a litter of puppies that some may be purebred and some may be mixed. This little one is a mix. If both his parents look like Yorkies, then one of them is a mix too and just got lucky to look like the Yorkie parent. I don't know if it is dachshund mixed in or a beagle or what -- it is too hard to say -- just know that there is definately something else in there. He will probably make a fine pet but if you want a pure Yorkie -- find another breeder! |
looks just like my yorkie-poo |
