need help...im soo frusterated!! I have trained Fergie to go in a litter box..she has been doing very well....surprisingly well....now all of a sudden she is peeing in different rooms. She has never done that before...I have watched her walk from the furthest room of the house all the way to her litter box..and never seen her seem like she would want to go anywhere else. She has peed and pooped on the floor....I am very upset ...I felt like i was on the right track ..now its like starting over or something..why in the world would she start this....Can anyone help me out?? this is hard...i love her to death...its just frusterating. Thankyou |
When an animal changes bathroom habits, the first thing they do is check for medical reasons. Do you think she could have a bladder infection? Is there anything that has changed in the routine? Did you change the brand of litter or cleaner that you've been using? I really can't offer you any advice. Five year old Deb will use her papers like a champ and then pee on the carpet. She should know better by now. I think she just doesn't want me take her for granted! |
I think Fergie may not like her litter box anymore. Do you use a pee pad inside it? You could try using a pad next to box and in other rooms where she goes to see if it's the box or a privacy issue. Did you clean box differently? They are so sensitive to smells. Joey, at 5 months, is always changing his bathroom habits. Nancy |
Thanx for the advice.....this whole situation caught me offguard...I thought things were going well...I guess I will keep on with the litter box...but make sure to be "extra" happy and give out the treats when she does do her job properly... maybe i was so quick to assume she was trained that I forgot to keep up with the encouragment?? I dont know...lol ...Im hoping for the best...but extra advice never hurts!! thanx guys.....:) |
My baby boy, 6 months now still stare at me after he does his business for treats. I try to be as consistent as I can so that he will do his business at the correct place.:) |
