6 Year Old Male Incontinence I Have A 6 Year Old Male Yorkie Who Always Has To Go To The Bathroom. He Stands There Forever And Dribbles. He Is Good Most Of The Time About Letting Me Know He Has To Go Out But He Has A Lot Of Accidents. I Put Belly Bands On Him When I Am Gone And They Are Always Soaked When I Come Back, It Doesn't Matter How Long I Am Gone. He Has Been Dribbling In The Apartment Lately. He Is Alway Thirsty Too. I Have Started Putting The Water Bowl Up When I Go To Work And Earlier In The Evening. Does Anyone Else Have This Problem? Do You Think It Is A Medical Issue? Help!!! |
At this age , he should start to have vet exam every 6 months . |
Please take your baby to the vet for a blood workup. His symptoms sound exactly like my Bichon had and I found out he has diabetes. It is easily controlled with insulin, but withholding water from a diabetic dog is DANGEROUS. They can go into what is called ketoacidosis from high blood sugar. Your boy may have nothing serious, but only a vet check will tell you for sure. When a dog has been housebroken for a long time and has been trustworthy, then suddenly having accidents can be a sign of medical reasons. Or stress. Please take him to your vet and have him checked out. |
