Your Help Is Needed Please Hi To You All Please Help I Have 2 German Sheps Who Are Now Fullyu Grown And Got A 12 Wk Old Yorki Which We Are Having Trouble House Training It Was Never This Hard With Our Other Dogs We Have Tried Most Things But If Any One Could Think Of Anythink We Could Try To Help Us As I Dont Really Want To Put Him In A Cage Many Thanks Victoria |
Congrats on your new addition. Try to remember that your new yorkie's bladder is very small, which means more trips to the potty and also the chance for more accidents. With patience comes success! I use the potty pads and have had great success with them. My yorkie is 13 weeks old and goes to the appropriate spot about 90% of the time - and is rewarded when he does. We are moving the pad into a litter box - I dont want to deal with going outdoors (especially since my yard is a disaster right now). Maybe this is something you could try. Either way, indoors or out, make sure your pup is given the chance to relieve him/her self about every hour. Good luck!! |

You don't want to put him in a cage, do you mean crate training? Crate training has worked for us and many people. Here is a good schedule to consider http://www.petstyle.com/dog/training...ing%20Articles Yorkies have much smaller bladders than German shephards. Tink had to potty every 30 minutes during playtime, this went on for months, and that definately makes it hard. But by 6 months we were just about there and then we taught how to ring a bell to go out to potty and we had so much success. But remember, small breed dogs often take up to a year to FULLY potty train. Just be consistent and patient. |
