SHaving between the eyes
 
Hi everyone,

I was just wondering does anyone shave in between their furbabies eyes and still put their in a ponytail? Princess is gettin groomed this saturday and I really want to keep her long enough to put in a ponytail but her hair gets icky in between her eyes. Can someone please post a picture up, I really don't want the groomer to give her a ugly cut!

did you use scissors to trim the hair or did you shave it with trimmers?

I believe my groomer used trimmers but I'm too afraid so I use scissors inbetween groomings. But he's very good for me and just stands there. Thank goodness!

what exactly do you trim? morgan was always so scruffy and scraggly until i took her to the groomer to get a complete trim down. do you trim the bridge of her nose too?

I do my girls - this was Chanel last year and now I don't cut quite as much but to give you an idea - here's a pic

I use a little el cheapo personal trimmer that I got in Sally's Beauty Supply (2nd picture) ...and I also use the tiny headed black trimmer (3rd pic) for the inside corners of their eyes & a tiny bit under the eye -

Mine are outside alot and I don't like hair sticking in their eyes.... so I keep it trimmed but I do not trim their noses at all

Hey Villette - where did you get that small (tiny) Wahl trimmer??? I have been looking for a little one for Mojo's face,feet, etc.......

How do you get them to cooperate with you? Bella hates me getting anywhere near her eyes.. to even put her hair in a topknot.. let alone trim the hair.

I think I got that one in Target - they have a great electronic shaver section...but to tell you the truth - the little personal trimmers are really cool - they're quiet and only shave a tiny bit at a time so you don't end up chunking the hair

I have the small shaver also, however, I only tried shaving twice. I agree it's scary. I'm afraid I'll get to close to the eyes.

I looked at Petedge.com for those Wahl clippers, but couldn't find them. Are they cordless and what is the price range? I've just haven't seen these in stores, but will try Target.

I have looked through PetEdge and the pet stores too and didn't find anything small enough for what I wanted........but I know Wal-Mart carries the small personal (human) clippers. I didn't see a Wahl though, but I am going to look at Target too.

Yes, the ones that do the bikinni, ears, nose, eyebrows - they come w/ several different attachments and of course, they are small in size. Plus, they are more quiet too!

Thanks so much for posting these pics. I found a clipper similar to 2nd picture at Target. So much better than anything I had, trimming ear tips went much easier too.

oh good !! the best one I like for ears is the small wahl trimmer - that's the one I can't do without....you don't need all the attachments as in the pic and Walgreens has them for about 10 $
