Is popcorn okay for them to eat? Does anyone know if it's okay for our yorkies to eat popcorn? I have big yorkies....15 and 10 lbs. But I am still aftraid they might choke. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance. |
I don't know......but I wouldn't think the kernels would be good for them --- shot, they about choke me sometimes. I would be afraid to feed it to them no matter what size they are. --That is just me though. |
To be safe I would stick to PupCorn -- the treat. http://www.petsmart.com/global/searc...4966169&Ne=420 I have always worried about the kernals too. I have bitten off the soft ends and given them to my adult dogs. But not to any big quantity. |

I don't think it too dangerous, I personally avoid it. cause i know how annoying the kernals are in human teeth,,,,think it would prolly drive them nuts, especially since they don't have thumbs they cant floss!!! lol |
I feed mine human popcorn once in a while but make sure the kernal is totally, completely removed before I give it to them......salt free and butter free! UGH, but they like it! LOL:thumbup: |

I feed Grayson popcorn but I am very picky as to what he gets. I tear it up to make sure he gets no kernals or anything that can get stuck in his teeth. My cat loves it too!! |
Ive given mine pupcorn without any problems. They love pupcorn. My Husband has also given them popcorn but not very often |
I'm not a big popcorn eater but my boys love it so I keep it on hand for them to have as a snack. Every now and then (like maybe 3 times a year), I'll eat a handful and that's it. I have given both Gabby and Gage popcorn, like others, pulling off the softer part to give to them. They love it and literally beg for more but I usually give them no more than a couple pieces each. They've had no problems with it but, they only get a couple of pieces a few times a year. |
 I bought special popcorn for dogs (at a pet store) but Pepper wasn't a fan of it at all...I say don't gove it to them unless you're there to watch just in case. Those popped kernels have hard shells on them and some dogs might try to swallow them whole |
I like popcorn and Daisy sits looking at the microwave listening to it pop, i've given it to her, but she doesnt eat it she justs makes a mess likes to crunch it. I bought Pupcorn over the weekend as a little christmas treat and we were at my moms on christmas, well Daisy and Lucy (parents doberman) were eating the pupcorn and lucy was done with hers and went to take Daisy's and she grabbed it and tried to swallow it and it got stuck...what a scare  that was. so i break it in half and she's only allowed to have it at home by herself. i'm glad that i read not to give her too much that it might constipate her. |
no they will choke on it i wouldn't even take the chance |
