travel questions Does anyone know how old a pup should be before he flies? We're trying to plan a trip...and we're wondering how long we should wait. |
I just went to Arizona and brought my new yorkie Sizzle from AZ to NC . She was 14 weeks. I got a yorkie code but didn't say a thing and saved $80. She was my carry on. With the new restrictions, you might want to take a ziploc and bring some nutrical along and if it doesn't pass because it is more than 3 oz, put some on the ziploc and keep the rest in your luggage. |
Airline regulations they have to be eight weeks old at least. I'm assuming the puppy is older than this. You will also need a health certificate from the vet. |

Yeah, he is 5 months. I was intending on using him as a carry on. Does that have to be hush hush? |
What I did is speak with a representative and obtained a pet code when making the travel plans. Since I did the kiosk myself, I just checked in when going to pick the yorkie. On the return with the yorkie, I had the curbsite airlines check me in and they didn't see a thing as I have a travel carrier that is from Petedge that looks like a purse. No one asked and so I didn't say anything. If they had asked, I was prepared just to say that I thought it was included in the fare. But didn't have to answer anything. This is my third time and the other times, I said something and they of course asked for the additional fee. |
