I use Advantage too. Its Can$14.50 for one plus taxes about Can15+. So for 4 tubes its like Can$60.How many do you get for that price? |
4 tubes |
I guess that is the price then. I got mine from the vet though. |
Anyone else |
I am using Sentinel which is for fleas, heartworms, roundworms etc. It is about $80 for 12 pills. Use once a month. Now I have 4 dogs so ughhhh! I do not want to do the math... |
I use advantage on my two dogs and one cat and I get it from the vet, my total every month is $61.00 |
Yep, that sounds about right 4 for 80 bucks. BUT..... I use 1 tube and SPLIT it between my 2 furkids. So I actually have 8 applications. I have never had any issues with doing it this way. My vet said that it shouldn't be a problem. :aimeeyork |
medicines that may cost less I use REVOLUTION and pay 112$ for a year's supply (once a month application) 27-28$ for a 3 month box times 4 times a year! No prescription needed if ordering from Canada or Australia ... itz a vial application ... not a pill! http://www.canadavet.com/revolution.html this website might be cheaper ... www.petsupplyexpress.com/browse.htm these places also sell the stuff you use .... check it out! |
I buy from an Australian place. My vet recommended it, cuz it is cheaper than what she charges. Frontline Plus 1 to 23 Lbs (0 to 10 kg) small dog 6 months US$43.97 And I split the application between the two dogs. And I used the generic heartguard from that site at $20 for six months. They also carry revolution, but I don't know enough about the product. What do ya'all think of it? Is it liquid or pill? Revolution for small Dogs 5.1-10kg (11-22lbs) 6 month pack US$62.82 Revolution for toy dogs 2.6-5kg (6-11lbs) 6 month pack US$58.89 Revolution for pups & kittens 0-2.5kg (0-5.5lbs) 3 month pack US$28.66 http://www.pets-megastore.com.au/ |
I buy my Frontline Plus at the feed store. It's like $35.00 for the four tubes. I may check into the pet megastore site previously posted. |

i have begun taking mine to get sprayed with frontline for $10 each it is supposed to last a month. i can get advantage for a little over $8 for one though frontline and revolution are about 10 for one |
I use advantage also..I paid $10.00 a a tube...I think that's the going price for it...I don't think you will find it any cheaper...I don't put it on the girls all the time...they don't usually get fleas but, I do have it on hand just incase...if I see one of those little buggers....out comes the advantage! |
My niece recommends a different site: Petsupplies.net. They have advantage: Dogs up to 10 lbs 6 tubes - Expires 11/2008 $29.95 |
I use frontline plus. i bought it at drsfostersmith.com this time and it was cheaper than at the vet. i looked and the advantage for 1-10lbs, 6 month supply costs $46.99 so that sounds cheaper than what you're paying. i go together with a friend so we only pay s&h once. |
I use frontline for around $40.00. |

Does anyone know if one brand is better in any way than another? I really like the sound of the Revolution and it looks like it costs about the same as what I am paying now for flea/tick alone! I still have to buy the Heartguard too. I also like the no pill method. |
bump. |
bumpity bump bump |
I found this website: http://www.dog.com To those who buys flea vials from online, do you ever have a counterfeit problem? How can you tell the real from the fake? If you never have a problem with fake products from online, which website do you buy it from and what brand do you use? |
wow I've finally found something thats cheaper in Australia! I use Revolution, which costs me about A$28 for 3 tubes and Drontal All Wormer which is about A$10 for 4 tablets |

I am thinking I will switch to revolution too. . .Waiting till I finish off the current stock though. I bought alot so that my hubby wouldn't have to deal with ordering it this summer while I am gone. Funny thing that. I am leaving for 4 months and I am getting more prepared for him to take care of the dogs then I am for him to take care of the rest of the detritus that I do. . . |
I learned something new Quote:
I always learn a lot on this forum, but a new word ... WOW!!!!! thanks .... |
The last time I got my Advantage I bought it off of Ebay for $18 for 4 tubes |

I switched from frontline to advantix but I'll switch back even though frontline doesn't protect from mosquitos. I also had the Australian frontline.... hmmmm... was not really sure if it worked quite as well... |

You are welcome. It's Iraq, how well can it go? Part of the job. . . And it's just a fancy word for the little things in life that I do...you know, pay bills, buy groceries, orthodontists, riding lessons, laundry. . .but it does make it sound more interesting and substantial then the rest of my errands/responsibilities. |
