I guess this happens to everyone's yorkie ok please tell me what do you do in order to avoid having poop stuck to the hair in their little butt and making a whole mess? How do you shave that area? Thank you> |
Yeah, I keep the hair trimmed in that area to avoid those messes |
You don't have to shave it. Just add a little Mineral oil or Neutrgenia Bath oil with water to that area. No problem. You will need to redo this about every 3-5 days. MAke sure you also do not change her food to avoid soft stool. T. |
My little pup is only 3 1/2 months but he don't have hair around his lil butt hole yet but I went to get a puppy trim and I think she might have shave it a little more I can't tell it looks the same :) |

very carefully with a pair of scissors just trim that area around the hole to maybe a centimeter long so you don't accidentaly cut the skin. I just use my judgement..like trim whatever hair you think will get messy. |
I trim my furbaby with a pair of scissors. it's a judgement call and it's easier if you have help. My husband holds her and i cut. Good luck:) |
I too use scissors. For me, its just a good guess in trimming. Like if it can make it there and get tangled...I trim so it can't. |
i smear peanut butter on the fridge to keep layla occupied and still while i trim around her bum.. she thinks its a great treat! |

LOL! I love that idea! |
Trimming that area with small safety scissors (blunt-end) is a good idea. If you trimmed about an inch all around the anus, it should prevent the mess. |
