More Questions on Pet Car Seats I am still researching car seats. What do most of you have? Do you have a seat that is made for the front or back seat? I am finding that the back car seats are safer because if the air bag goes off, it could hurt your Yorkie. But, I would love to have her in the front passenger seat next to me. So confusing! Thanks. I have a seat called "Pet Voyage" or something like that. I use it in the front seat and the seat is pushed back as far as it will go in case the air bag deploys. This seat has a restraining strap that attaches to her harness. If puppies aren't secured in their seats, well...I don't even want to imagine the outcome of a wreck. What is the purpose of the 'car seats' that don't have restraining straps? |
Where do you get your car seats...I am also interesting in getting something for our girls...they love to look out the window but I am so afraid that something would happen to them if we were ever in an accident...I want them to be safe as well....we dont' want to spend alot of money though, as we have two!!! |
The best protection is a create. My dogs travel in plastic crate when I'm driving long distant. |
1 Attachment(s) this is the one I have, it keeps rocky safe and he doesnt mind being in it.. He is actually very calm when he is in his car seat and its only 19.95 at Petsmart |
My doggy carseat was the best purchase I ever made. It was $89 and worth every penny. It is foamed covered with a fabric and the bed part is very soft. It sits up high so they can see out and it secures with a seatbelt and then a restraint that attaches to their harnesses. It can hold three small yorkies easily. They can lay down or sit up and look out. It has a drawer in it to store leashes, toys and whatever. It has a tray that hooks to the front for food and water. I am less distracted when I drive, I know that they are safe and even when I stop they are not going to jump out without me seeing them, etc. Chai gets carsick so I cannot put her in the back seat. She has to be up high where she can see out. |
I looked into this, and it says it holds dogs up to 20 lbs. My Yorkie weighs 5-1/2 lbs. How big is your kid? Would my dog be too small for this? I don't want her to get lost in it. Many thanks. Kate Quote:

My daughter (LOL) weighs 5-1/2 lbs. Would she be lost in this seat? I don't want anything too big. Does it fit all car seats? Many thanks. Kate Quote:

Rocky is 8lbs and even though he is a bit bigger, I dont think your babie would get lost, Rocky can lay down in the seat and have his toys in it as well and their is a hook for the harness. I only use it for short rides (15-30mins), other than that I am His car seat. |
