Is this food safe? I had my Dusty on science diet and everyone has told me to change his food due to his dry skin. You all told me that most yorkies were sensetive to corn and whole grains. I found Royal Canin for yorkies. There is no corn or wheat products in it. It say's it is just for the yorkshire terriers teeth, coat, and joints. Did I make a good choice or should I try to keep looking? He has been on it now for 3 days and seems to like it very well. He has had no problem with it so far. I also got the missing link product and need to know how much to start a 3 pounder off with and how soon or do you increase the amount? |
I use this food for My pregnant Yorkie and I add the canned to dry also and She is doing great on it.My vet says it is one of the best on the market :) Of course She gets other things too like yogurt, cottage cheese and Her rice chicken and veggies and then I put Her vitamins in this mix. Good Luck |

Been using it for 5 years......no problems. The only thing is you feed less, since if feed the same amount they tend to gain weight very easily. |
This is the only hard food My yorkies will eat. It is a good quality food. As far as the missing link I started mine out at the teaspoon but I think other members on here with smaller yorkies started with less. Hopefully they see your post and respond |
This is the only dry food my babies will eat. I don't know about anyone else, but I have noticed that it makes their coats real shiny and helps keep their teeth clean. :D |
Venus loves it! And as soon as Adonis's other food is gone, I'm going to start him on it too. I started Venus out on 1/2 teaspoon of Missing Link, and she weighs 3.1 lb. |
Hello everyone, all new to this..... As my baby will be here on Sunday (Christmas Eve). I have a little at a time been trying to get things ready for her arrival and I purchased some of the Royal Canine last night at Petsmart. The sales associate told me it was the best. I did not purchase the one for YT because I assumed that was for an adult and not a puppy so I got the puppy formula for small breeds - Was this correct or do I need to start her off with the same for YT? My question also, what amount to feed and how many times a day? She is 5mo 2.5lbs. Courtney |

I start my puppies out on the Royal Canin Weaning Formula, graduate to the puppy, switch them over to adult at about 8 or 9 months. |
When I started Sissy on the Missing Link, I began with 1/8 tsp cause it says to gradually increase the amount. I've stuck with 1/4 tsp and that works well for her. She is just over 4 lbs. |
