My yorkie got along with my cousins shar pei.. they werent too sure of each other at first but after a day they were fine. My aunt also had a boxer and a small terrier and ironicly the boxer injuryed itself playing not the terrier. Just make sure the new dog is used to being around others. |
I wonder if Jane would be considered a big dog? She weighs around 10 or 11lbs. Well anything. We have a lot of large dogs in our neighborhood. Hershey, neighbor's yorkie, gets long great with all the large dogs neighborhood. They're too friendly but I can't have one. My mom was a fear of large dogs plus she doesn't want to clean up big loads of poo... LOL! :D |
Teddy LOVES his big Lab siblings. We have a Black one at about 100 pounds and a chocolate that weighs about 85 pounds. The big dogs are wonderful with him and even come to his defense when he is picking on the cats. It's the small dachshund that he doesn't really care for. Check out his dogster page for a view with his big brother and best friend Max. www.dogster.com/?130304 |
I have a 130 lb Alaskan Malamute and he was actually AFRAID of my 3 lb yorkie. They became great friends and Hugo (the malamute) was really upset when my yorkie got sick and died. |
3 Attachment(s) I agree on Big dogs/little dogs -see the pictures of our two |
My 65 lb boxer just loves my 1.25 lb yorkie. And my yorkie just loves having a big dog to jump all over and play with. Wether big dogs and little dogs will work depends on the breed though. Boxers are know to be affectionate dogs. http://tinkerbellscloset.easystorecr...-penny-web.jpg |

Your choc lab is only 60lbs? WhOA Your lucky. My choc lab is 105. We adopted him from a shelter. When we got him he was 53lbs, he was starved and beaten lilguy. ANYWAYS... we actually got Peanut to perk up Luke b/c he was always looking sad... He is wonderful with her she curls up in his fat rolls to sleep, LOL! |
I have a doberman which is a fantastic watch dog, and great with my kids. I never have worry if I am alone at night becasue if someone comes near our yard she lets us know. She is also extreamly protective of myself and the kids (she thinks they are hers)We also recently had 2 yorkies join our family and Isis is great with them. They seem to be really good buddies, and if anything she thinks they are her puppies, which is great for her but at times Bridget doent like the bath...LOLowell good luck! |
We have a 5 year old, 100lbs yellow lab (Kirby). He has always been very jealous of any animal getting attention and not him. Sometimes he is even jealous of humans getting attention. He is also VERY attached to and protective of my mom...lol. Kirby pretty much wants to eat Gizmo. Sometimes he'll be ok and just watch him, but after a few minutes he starts to growl and we catch him just as he tries to lunge at Gizmo. Gizmo just wants to play with him, but I'm not sure Kirby will ever get over this. |
Here is Sammi with her boyfriend Storm! She loves him sooo much! He is 15 months old and about 80lbs...My sister rescued him from a shelter, he was supposed to be a "beagle mix" turned out to be a pitbullmix...Hes a gentle giant! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i/8ca0aa8c.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i/ec1d5626.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ovesStormy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...vesStormy2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...KSamEnough.jpg |
