I have a secret . . . this morning when I took Annika back to the laundry room to do her usual routine (pee and poop) she did not poop. Well I eventually fed them and after they were done (Tiger also did the pee and poop) I let them loose and they go back with me to the bedroom so I can make up the bed and get ready for work. These days it is still dark outside even at 7:00am so my hubby got up as soon as I came in the door and left to do some business in his den. Well, he normally doesn't do that but today he did and thank goodness. When he was gone, I went and started to make the bed and guess what I found on top of my down comforter ?????? POOPIES    . . hard but yes, Poopies. My honey would have freaked out and he would say Annika can no longer sleep with us :( :( . . . so I hurriedly flushed them into the toilet before he came back . . Whew! What do you think made her do that? She is pretty good at waking me up if she really needed to go but I know these past few days I have been fighting a bad cold and have been taking Nyquil so my guess is that she did attempt to wake me but I was just sleeping like a log. Well, do you think it could happen again, now that she has done it. . . . . she's always been so good and never had an accident  Oh I intend to keep this a secret so thank goodness my hubby never gets on YT. I cannot wait to share this bit of news to Myka as she will be home tomorrow and will have Annika with her the whole time she's home. Yay, and I get to sleep with Tiger the the rest of the year. . . sweet! |
Oh My! That was funny! Well, not really because that is a No,No, but funny nontheless! I do not know what would have caused her to do that! Maybe she couldn't get off the bed or something? You know, they normally don't poop where they sleep. The poor girl! |
This is so hilarious to read because I do the EXACT same thing, Des!!!!!!!!! Hobbs never goes potty in the house anymore, but whenever Hootie does and I see it, I quickly pick it up and flush it before hubby sees it because if hubby sees it, I know she'll get in big trouble and I know she doesn't mean to do it, so I help her cover it up.   And I am sure Annika tried to wake you like usual but since you've been sick and taking meds, you probably just didn't hear her. I am ALWAYS the one that gets up in the middle of the night and takes the dogs out, but the other night, hubby ended up waking up and taking them because I didn't hear them rustling around! That was the first night EVER I didn't hear them! I guess I was REALLY tired! And I don't think it'll become a habit for her to potty in the bed. I'm sure she'll continue to try to wake you from now on like she usually does because they don't like to potty where they sleep. |

I too am pretty quick to get up if and when I know Annika needs to go but when getting out of bed because I have to work . . .man that is always a hard thing to do . .why is that :) I don't think I am ever in the office on time  good thing I have a wonderful boss and they spoil me . . . so another reason why it is so hard to quit my job. (sorry I am rambling here :) ). |

Oh I normally spray with Simple Solution but I did not want to be too obvious that an accident occurred. Do you think it is too late to spray it when I come home tonight  |
I will keep your secret but it's also my secret too!!:D Grayson did that once |
I dont know what made her do that but one of mine did it the other day on our bed too. I dont know which one. That is the only time they have went on the bed. I did like you and just quickly cleaned it up before my Husband saw it |
OMG, OMG, OMG she did it again this early morning . . that's 2 days in a row . . . did not even bother to wake me up  or at least I think she didn't. What am I supposed to do :( I know I will get caught one of these days if she continues, although Myka comes home tonight so she will be sleeping with her. I need to take out the duvet cover and washed it, making sure to put simple solution in the wash to completely get rid of the smell  . Do you think that will work  |
OMGosh, this is so not funny, however the fact that several of us has had this happen and kept it a secret from our husbands is pretty funny. Candi pood in my bed one time and it was right next to my sleeping husband. I hurried and cleaned it up. Then about 20 minutes later wake him up and asked him to bring the beddding in the laundry room.:D |

hee hee ..sorry .. not funny.. but maybe she's mad at her daddy...lol... |
I have scooped a lot of poo out of daddy's office floor and hurried with the flush thing. He would have a fit if he knew just how many times he poos on his floor! I agree, thank goodness he doesn't read this site! |
hee hee, sorry to laugh but it's sorta funny. Poor Annika, i'm curious to know what has gotten into her. Is she pooping before she goes to bed? I guess it wouldn't be funny if it were me in your shoes....I'd totally hide it from the hubby too, so I completely understand. I hope you find a solution very soon! |
OMG we all do the same thing..Let's hope our other halves don't come on YT to read about our secret poopy covert operations..lool..I do the same, if she pees or poops in the wrong place by accident. My honey doesn't get mad or care but he gets grossed out..lool..but I still don't want her to have the poopy pants reputation for a couple of mistakes a year...lool..Maybe if you put a little skirt diaper on her when you go to sleep. More than likely she won't go in there and if she does it's not on your bed or anywhere for your hubby to see. |
Does Anika hate the cold weather? Could that be why she's not waking you to go out...or does she normally go on pee pads? I have no clue why these little stinkers decide to potty on beds or anywhere else inside. Maddie hasn't gone on the bed *knock on wood*, but for the past few days, she's been pooping here and there and everywhere inside! Why she's doing that when she was so well trained for so long is a mystery to me! These little ones keep us guessing! I also do the flush down the toilet quickly before hubby sees. LOL |
Makes you wonder doesn't it? Lucy holds a GRUDGE!:) She's 11 months old now, but a couple of months ago she got mad at my son because he made her go out of his room. (He was cleaning) She waited until later in the day then went in his room and peed on his shoes.:p Once before, she was pouty with me because I moved her to the other side of the bed during the night. She kept trying to go back to "her" side, but the fan was on and I didn't want her to get cold. Well, she got up during the night and pooped on my side of the bed. She hasn't done either again, so I'm sure she was just ticked because she didn't get her way:rolleyes: |
Mine never did poops on the bed, but they did both throw up at different times. I think that's worse. They had eaten mulch and that's what came up. I have a down comforter, so I understand. I clean it myself and then hubby took it to the cleaners. Maybe you could take it to the cleaners?? |
I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, but alas just as I was thinking Sissy was just about 100% outside trained, I was getting into bed for the evening and pulled the comforter up and she had peed on it!!! As our comforter is a duvet cover, it had to immediately be taken off so as not to soak into the down blanket. Well, when I took off the cover, I found some yellowish areas on the blanket that obviously were not fresh -so who knows how many times that happened and I just didn't know it!!!!! I couldn't keep it a secret as the hubby was right there. But, I did kind out put it on him cause he will put Sissy up on the bed and then go about doing stuff. So she most likely did this during one of those times when he should have instead been taking her out to potty!!! He will say, "Oh, in a minute" or when I come home from a class, "she hasn't been out in a while". He gets on the computer and totally spaces out!!! If you are not really watching her, she will go wherever, whenever!!! As I've said before, its a good thing they are so darn cute and it is easy to clean up after them!!!! |
I think this might always happen occasionally. I can't imagine anyone ever being in total charge of when I go to the bathroom..... allowing me a certain time and a certain place - and expecting me to follow this routine 100% of the time.... Our little dogs are not "machines." They are little animals. I am sure there are times they may not need to go to the bathroom when they usually do - and other times when they need to go all of a sudden. Your little puppy was just a little off schedule - and probably had to go all of a sudden - so she just went at a time and place that wasn't what you have programmed for her. As I said - I would expect this to happen occasionally - and would consider it normal. I really think that expecting 100% compliance from our little dog's with their bathroom habits is asking a little tooooooo much. We need to allow for a few exceptions now and then. Carol Jean |
Oh what us devoted mommys will do!!:p Occasionally Pete will have an accident and I will clean it up quickly before my boyfriend or roommate notice. I know they wouldnt be mad, but I just don't want them to think he isnt perfect:D . Because in my eyes he will always be perfect:) :) :) . Sincerely, Crazy Yorkie Mom |
I see the light . . . . Well, Annika was really good this early morning as there was not a trace of POOP on my duvet cover (Jodie, I have the same as you - so I need to wash it tonight)  Well, we really did not go to bed the usual time last night as I was waiting for my daughter (who's flight got cancelled and so she had to rebook and ended up coming home at 1:30am  instead of 10:30pm as scheduled) to come home. I also decided to get one blanket of hers (she and Tiger has tons) and put it on the area where she has had 2 consecutive accidents. When I woke up this AM, it was clean :p And like clockwork, she did poop when I took her to the laundry room, where she normally does her business . . .I hope no more accidents :) Oh, Myka was supposed to sleep with her last night but since she came home really late, I decided she needed tons of rest and might not be able to wake up in case Annika needed to go. |
Des, do you think Annika could've been upset because you were sick? Has she had accidents on the bed before when you've been ill? Our babies are sensitive to our moods and feelings and I wonder if this might've had something to do with it. Just a thought.. Hope you're feeling better.:) Karen |
