It's marketing - plus ALOT OF HYPE ...

many people just go buy a dog and don't know not to buy from pet stores - They probably don't realize those people buy from puppy mills ....& maybe they just don't care either. :(

Unfortunately, I was one of their uninformed buyers... their store is open and if you go there or call they act as a representative of local "select" breeders and sell you their puppy mill puppies for astronomical amounts of money...This is where Ninna came from..:(
I only got to know about them when I took her to my vet for a check up and he gave me all their info, and by then I already had her and have been one of the lucky ones because she has been super healthy so far..

They have several names for which they go under, their latest being www.bygilda.com

It says visit our showroom. So they must still have a store open. I thought they were just selling on the net and their stores got closed down

I've heard they just open under new names when shut down - and have billboards on the freeways in FLA... so they DO advertise alot & not just on the net.

I can see how someone wouldn't know where they get their dogs - that's what Pet stores DO. They hype up the prices and act like they love animals when they are actually big Puppy Mill buyers.

there's no way for an uninformed customer to know that unless they're told up front - and they aren't.

and furby - she's darling and you are lucky....I would just count those blessings girl !!!

i cant stand ppl like this, I live near this place, I hope the state closes them down, they are a puppymill and its awful what goes on there with these poor dogs !! this puppymill needs to get closed down for good !!!! Ugh !!!

oh gosh, i just want to take him all home. it seems like they are just trying to capitalize that their dogs are "tiny, tiny!". tiny sure does not mean healthy. the silkies on that link are NOT 5-7 pounds. unless they are sickly skinny, i just don't believe it. they weigh more than that, i would hope, for their size. my duke weighs 10 pounds right now and he is smaller than them in correlation to the pop cans. i wish they actually cared about those pups instead of just the cash! can tell they just care about cash from the way they positioned it in their pics, huh? :(

They have tons of billboards and signs all over Miami so people who want a puppy and can afford it go to them without knowing what they are really selling. I went to Bal Harbour (upscale shops) with Ninna last week and a lady asked me if I got her at "that place everyone gets little dogs from that has all those billboards?" So of course I was happy to inform her of the reality of "that place" she was shocked of course. But nevertheless, most people in Miami think they are the only and the best... :mad: So I was glad to at least enlighten one person..

Girl, I count my blessings Every Single day with her... only time will tell...

Do they keep all these pups at their store or do the breeders keep them at their homes ? Big deal if celebrities buy them. I honestly don't know if I would sell one of my pups to ozzy:eek: Did you ever watch their show? The one with Ozzy trying to catch the cat in the back yard? It was super funny but OMG. All their dogs peeing all over the house...... Well at least the celebs have plenty of $$ to pay for vet bills that might come with mill pups!

I feel sooo sad for all the puppies and their Moms and Dads:mad: makes me want to cry. Why any state to let this go on is beyond me !

They are a pet shop like any other. They buy from the mills that the other stores buy from. One day soon (I pray) everyone will learn about puppy mills and these people like all other pet shops will be shut down forever!

how do you know so much about these places (wizard of claws) I guess I dont get what to look for? and how did you guys figure out it was the same site w/a diff name?
Man I feel dumb-I actually considered a puppy on this site a while back :(

Well there was a time when I didn\'t know either, I wish I would have found this site and done so much more research before purchasing my puppy. Research, word of mouth and Yorkie Talk are the best ways to inform one self of these puppy mill sales agents. :thumbdown :mad:
