Yorkies that never go out? Anyone with a Yorkie that doesn't use the bathroom outside but is either paper/litterbox trained and will never potty anywhere but indoors? |
Our girls go inside only. When we walk them they hold it until they get home. They did go in the back of my SUV once on a potty paper, after trying to get them to go outside. We were gone most of the day & I knew they needed to go. They will only go if potty paper is down. |
Abbie is trained to paper, as I can't be with her outside always, and we have hawks, owls and at least one eagle nesting somewhere nearby. |
Cali is pad trained and will not ever go outside. Maya my Pom only goes outside so I thought Cali would end of going either place but she will not go outside holds it until we get home and goes on her pad. |
Ok that's good to know. I think i'll keep my yorkie indoors. |
My boy is pad trained. The only times he goes outside is when I pick him up from the groomers, then he runs for the nearest tree. hehe ;) |
Monday is rarely "walked", she is piddle pad trained ... but my daughter just walked her and the report I got was that she pooped and peed .... So shez acclimated to both I guess, but she does go in here and where she is supposed to .... ::: patting myself on my back :::: |
Toto is pad trained and will also pee/poop outside when we go for walks! I suppose it's the "best of both worlds", however, because she is tiny, we don't always walk her because of weather, etc. For this reason she is way overweight and although she is on a diet, we aren't able to take any weight off her. I am hoping to run the fat off her in the spring!! |
Pepper is 6 months old and goes only on the pad. Not really my choice as I'm trying to make him go outside as well but he doesn't 'feel the need' ... He holds until he goes on the pad. I tried taking the pad outside, sprayed special drops around the backyard and nothing :( . As it's cold now, I can't take him out for too long but on the warm days I took him to the park for a few hours and he still held it until home. Well, having a pad trained dog has advantages too, esp on those blistery cold winter weekend mornings ;) :D |
Gracie is predomininantly wee wee pad trained however if we are at someone else's house she will go to the door and ask to go out and of course will go if we go for a walk. Abbie on the other hand is afraid to go outside! |
Both of mine use pads, though they both seem to enjoy going out to do their business. |

Edited to add: I'm just so thrilled it's contained to ONE spot in my house, now! LOL |
Jewels has started not wanting to go out when its cold so we are pad training her |
Cassie is pee pad trained. She rarely goes outside. Here is an updated pic of her. She is my special baby! |

OH My!!! Diesel is trained to go outside ONLY! Yes, every now and then he may have an accident. I just can't imagine him not going out. When he has to go he will come fine me and let me know. He used the puppy pad when he was a baby just like Keira does. Even Keira is going outside more and more. Diesel LOVES going out to play and run around. Besides, I think it is good for dogs just to be dogs every now and then. I would not have the patience to deal with a puppypad. |
Simon and Hallie are potty pad trained. They have a potty area in my apartment behind a screen (they like privacy haha) but we go on about 4 walks a day and they will go outside too. We are from Alaska so when it was -40 it was too cold for baby Simon so I just started pad training him. We got Hallie when she was 2.5 and I trained her too. |
Mine do both. If I am home with them they go outside. They LOVE going out in their backyard. Mon-Fri when I am at work, they use pads. |
