Awkward Stage? I have heard there is an awkward stage in puppy development. Can Yorkies go through a stage (like at 7 weeks) where their legs look too long? Ben had very short legs when we got him at 10 weeks. Sadie's legs look about as long as Ben's are now. She looks like an awkward teenager who has gotten too long in the leg before the rest has grown. I just love her no matter how she turns out, but I am paying premium $$ for her and really would like her to be in standard. She is just beautiful and her mother and father were gorgeous as well -- with perfect proportions. She looked nicely proportioned until this last week. Then it seemed like only her legs had grown since previous visit. I feel bad asking -- sounds like I am being critical of her and really the awkiness just sort of endears her more to us. But if you have had a longer legged yorkie puppy even up as she grew, please let me know. Thanks. |
You should post a pic for us...that could help a lot! :) |
I tried for an hour today to post pictures. I did it once before and feel like a dolt, but I could not get them to upload. I think my pictures are too large. So, I tried to resize them in IRFANVIEW but that did not work -- kept getting invalid file. I think I need to upload to photobucket and go from there. Will work on it again. |
I have a resizer that's really easy - it's called PIXresizer and it was shareware. If you want you could always email them to me and I could resize for you! |
1 Attachment(s) I am hoping this will work. I should have taken one with her running around but maybe you can tell in this one: |
I don't have an answer for you, but I do have the same question about my little one. I imagine it's sortof like a gangly teenage boy, you know, when they look all out of proportion. My Darla is starting to fill out a little more now (born 8/19) and it isn't so noticeable. Hope all turns out well for you. |
