And yet another stupid question.... Some days, I just have to shake my head. Gracie and I were at the park today taking a walk. This woman, appeared in her mid 60's, is there with her grandkids most likely. She comes running up to Gracie and says, "Is that a Toto dog?" I said "no", Toto was a Carin terrier. She then asked what kind of dog Gracie is and I said a Yorkshire terrier. Then a teenage boy brat says, "so, what does a Yorkshire terrier look like?" I pointed to Gracie and said "like that". He then asked "so what color is a Yorkshire terrier?" We walked away. I'm sure no one meant any harm, but some days this kind of crap just irks me to no end! FYI, if anyone wants info about the Toto dog, here is an interesting link! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toto_(dog) |
boys ... lol... teenage boys... lol... |
Maybe he was half blind. When we were selling our pups I can't tell you how many people called and asked what color our pups where. I know that there is a little variety, but most of the time when someone advertises a Yorkie that is of a different color they say it's chocolate or parti. So I would just say that currently they are black and tan and eventually they should turn blue and gold. |
Don't you just love those questions :). Maizee has alopecia and if I had a dime for every time someone asked if she was a Chinese Crested, I could retire right now! I've also been asked on several occasions if I was walking a rat. . |
I got into one of those "teacup" discussions at the groomers last week. A woman there applying for a job and her two teenage daughters were asking. You would think a dog groomer would have a little sense about it. Ignorance may be bliss, but stupidity is the bain of my existence. |
So he was looking at your dog, and asked what your dog looks like and what color she is? WOW |
Maybe he was blind???????? Yeah right |

and yet another stupid question.. I thought people buying puppies would atleast have a bit of knowledge on the breed, apparently not. I had a woman call that had seen pics of my puppies and she asked if he was a short haired yorkie. I tried to explain he is just a puppy and that is as long as his hair has grown so far and that if you let it, it will grow long. I told her some keep them in the puppy cut. And she was just floored.. "well, he looks like a short haired one, my mom breeds them". wow. I talked to her a couple of times and I guess she had forgot that she had already asked.. b/c both times she asked if he was a long or short haired one?! |

I think we should keep a list of stupid questions that people ask about Yorkies, then make it into a book or sell it to a dog magazine or something. This thread is really quite entertaining! |

Hahahahaha that's great! Also, if her mom breeds them why doesn't she just get one from her mom? |
DUH!!!!!!!!! |
Well, actually in the link it says Toto was either Cairn Terrier OR a Yorkie... And later 'became' a Boston Terrier  . So maybe that question wasn't that dumb after all :D ?? |
The kids get it from the parents, lol! I know they normally don't mean any harm, but dayum! |
People are crazy.......I have had some one ask if Mojo was a Brussels Griffon!!! Really people.....come on! I thougth Toto was a scotty for some reason??!! I have no clue though! |
