Early evening hyper time? Have had the my new puppy "Bitsy for almost three weeks now. She is a little over twelve weeks old. Seems like every day in the early evening, she goes through a period of hyper-activity!!! She is not eating anything just before that she has not eaten previously during the day, so I do not think it is that. She seems to be so full of energy and just tears around. Does not want to be held at this time but at any other time loves to be held and cuddled. When my daughters were small, seems like this period just before bed was a "get wild" time. Anyone else experiencing this? Any comments or suggestions appreciated. p.s. We also have two other dogs that enjoy playing with here during the day but during this early evening period, she torments them to no end. |
Lexy does the same thing! |
Cosmo does the same thing. I thought it was because he was in hir crate for an hour or so. But last night he did the same thing. Bites everything and does not listen. He does it for a while then he calms down then right before he goes to bed he does it again. Silly little puppy. |
Thanks for your input. Thought it might be something I was or was not doing. Had Yorkies about 20 years ago and cannot remember them doing this. Boy, is she ever feisty when she gets in this "mood". A "no" means nothing to her!! ;) |
Wild thing Gracie gets really hyper!! She goes from asleep to just tearing around the house...she runs and won't stop...It is so funny...sometimes she will bark at random things and just go crazy...she grabs every toy she has and moves it out of her "toy basket" and then runs. But the minute I put her in my bed she calms right down. :) |
Bella does the same thing. We call her "Terror Bella" in the evening and "Sweet Bella" in the morning/daytime |
Gizmo is 3 months old and he gets like that in the morning and later in the evening. He goes from sweet boy to hell on paws! |
Well, get used to the Yorkie rush! My boys are going on two and they still do it right around 8-9 at night! It must be just something that they have to get out of their system before going to bed at night. It's so cute, they run around and play so hard for about 30 minutes and then they settle down. You could set your clock by it!...Theresa & The Boys :animal-sm :aimeeyork |
Yep! It's a yorkie thing!! Hefner is great at it! I think it's their way of getting rid of all of the excess energy before getting ready for bed!! Part of the nighttime ritual! |
I started a post similar to this one not too long ago..haha. My yorkie-poo does the same thing! She goes pshyco! Your not the only one.. :D I think it's just something they have to get out of their system. Kinda like how we women need chocolate sometimes.. lol...it's like that sort've for our dogs. They need "their" time to get whatever it is out of their system. haha. :p |
Our Yorkie-poo "Pumpkin" just got through tearing through the house, whizzing from room to room like the devil was after her. Judging from all the other posts, this is "normal" Yorkie behavior? I was wondering if something was wrong with her too! |
Both mine do the same thing, I have to turn off the lights to get them to realize its bed time. :D |
