Is This Normal? A couple of weeks ago Soph was playing with our Boxer and biting her ankles which is what she does best given her size. She let out a small yelp and kept on playing. Awhile later we noticed blood on the boxers ankles. We made sure she wasn't bleeding and checked Soph. Sophie's mouth was bleeding on the left side. I cleaned her up as best I could, but she wouldn't let me look in her mouth. The next day she was making this awful grinding sound with her teeth. That stopped, then extreme bad breath commenced. Well, between yesterday and today she lost what I swear were three huge molars. Has anyone's yorks lost that many teeth in such a short time? She also had what appears to be double sets of teeth in certain places. Yikes! |
I haven't noticed bleeding when the Sadie lost her teeth..Lillie has just started losing hers...I don't notice any blood but it does seem that once they start to fall out they fall out fast..one day I looked in her mouth and she had all her teeth and a couple of days later she was missing like 5 teeth from the bottom..she looked so cute! no double teeth that I can see..maybe you should make a trip to the vet...if all the teeth don't fall out and she ends up with a double set they will need to be pulled. |
Chewy had double rows of teeth... and when he lost 3 teeth in 3 days some did bleed... they also smelled awful. he just got neutered and they took the rest of the baby teeth out and now, no more bad breath!!! YEAH:cheer: |
Pete had a double row of teeth, so we waited a little longer to have him nuetered so they could pull the extra teeth at the same time. In the end he had 13 baby teeth pulled!! |
I called him my little shark:) |
Well one day my Standard Poodle and I were at the off leash park and he was playing with a Golden Retriever puppy. After a bit of playing my dog had blood all over him. At first I was a bit worried but then I grabbed the retriever puppy and looked in his mouth. As he was play biting with Chaucer he was pulling out his puppy teeth. His gums were bleeding and my dog needed to go to the grooming shop for a bath. It may be normal depending on how old your dog is. Taking on a Boxer is hard work for a yorkie!!!! |
Maizee has a double row of teeth. Maybe I'm a bad puppy parent but I didn't get them pulled :S I just use a finger brush every night to clean them and she seems fine. More teeth to chew her food with :) My boyfriends dog (doberman), on the other hand, had some pretty rank breath for a long while and was bleeding constantly. He lost teeth by the handfuls but he was also chewing on everything in sight and knocking them loose. |
Bruce had a severe case of monster mouth or shark teeth, and nearly all his baby teeth were pulled when he was nuetered, I do not think that having a double row is at all uncommon in yorkies. Due to the fact that so many of his teeth were pulled, I did not notice if any bled when lost, but I know teething generally tends to cause bad breath. I think everything sounds okaY! |
