Maggie's home after her spaying yesterday She seems to feel good except she is laying and sleeping a bit. but she doesnt seem all that sore. Just glad all went fine and she is home again. I'm keeping her and kizzy separated. but kizzy seems to kinda know since I did let them together for a few minutes. kizzy kissed her and sniffed her and then walked away and laid down. so their both doing good today. |
YAY good news :) Isn't it so nice to get them back at home?! Lots of kisses for a speedy recovery!!! |
Feel better soon Maggie!! |
Today isn't the day I would worry about! When I had Roxie spayed a few months ago, I threw a fit when the vet wanted to keep her overnight, so I got to bring her home with me and the first 2 days were great! It was probably a combination of the anesthesia and the surgery because she slept a lot and when she was awake, she wanted to just sit next to me. But, on the third day her stitches must have started itching because she started licking them and I really had to watch her. She also wanted to jump up and down off of the couch and bed and the vet had told me not to let her do that for a FEW days. So, I had to devote all of my time to watching her unless I wanted to put her in her kennel. |
yep, well Maggie is already wanting to play tug of war with kizzy so i have to keep her from that because kizzy gets so rough. when maggie is well she can pretty much defend herself but I wont let them play together tonight or maybe the next day or so but she seems fine. she has eaten real good today but I really have to keep my eye on them so sometimes i put one in their bed while the other plays for a while and switch them out, and sometimes ive left them both out when hubbys in and can hold maggie or when i can keep a close eye on them both. shes done great tho. |
I'm so glad Maggie is doing well:) I worried constantly about Lucy staying overnight at the vet's, but now I'm glad I did. After the 3rd day she was basically back to normal and I really had to hold her back because she thought she could do anything! |
I'm so very happy that Maggie is feeling OK. Get well soon, Baby! |
I am so glad Maggie is doing so well....give Maggie and Kizzy a kiss and hug for me....:) |
Sounds like Maggie is on the quick road to recovery. Glad she is back home.:) |
I love reading stories like this one! I need to bring Hope and have been a little hesitant since she is so small... this makes it a little easier! d |
I also had my male, Brody, neutered. He weighs 3 pounds, 7 ounces and I was worried, too. The big problem was in convincing the vet's assistant that I wanted to bring him home after the surgery. At most vets, mine included, the dogs are left unsupervised from about 7 or 8 PM until the morning and Brody sleeps with me and I knew that he would be really upset. The telling question was when I asked them about who would check on him throughout the night. I convinced them that he would get more supervision with me, I got to bring him home. He had surgery first in the morning and I picked him up at closing time. Brody and I both survived! |
Way to go Maggie!!! You will be back up to mischief before your Mom can blink!! :p I am so happy she did well. When Toto was spayed, she didn't have to stay overnight .... Dr. Lucy knew I would be sleeping at her office!!! I think I suffered more than Toto .... held her for 3 days ... I love vets who believe that "Mom's lap" is the best medicine for our babies!! ;) |
So glad everything went ok for Maggie!! I will be having Venuse spayed later this month. |
So happy that all is well with your sweet baby girl. |
