I wanna start a pet therapy progem at my local hospital. Where do I start? I know there are people here on YT that have started a pet therapy program at their local hospital or other places in your hometown. I really want to start a pet therapy program at my local hospital. Where in the world would I begin? |
Put in a call to human resourses? Nursing homes would be great too, I know of several in this area that has those programs but I wouldn't know where to begin. Maybe someone at human resourses can put you in the right direction! |
Yes, contact HR. I agree with nursing homes as well. Good luck |
If you completed some type of training such as AKC's Good Citizen program you would have some documentation showing that the furkids were well trained social dogs and would be a GREAT BENEFIT. Then I would get the dogs out.... call nursing homes -- most of them have animal friends who visit ... my miniature horse Quincy visits a nursing home occasionally -- he is allowed full access to the nursing home -- he goes in the commons area, in rooms, down etc. The joy he brings is beyond words..... I haven't been in a while -- I must get back on the schedule in the spring. |
