Annika is out of surgery
 
I just got a call from the vet's office to let me know Annika's surgery went very well and should be waking up anytime now. She went in this morning for tooth extraction. I know I should have posted about her upcoming surgery for lots of prayers but it was too nerve-wracking even to write it.

Thank you to a few that I have told and have said a prayer for her. I am sure I would have gotten tons of prayers if I did post . . . I am just happy to know she is okay and will be coming home with me tonight.

YAY! That is great news! I am happy to hear that Annika is out of surgery and doing well. I bet you and her both cannot wait for her to come home!!!!!! BIG HUGS to the little princess!!

I know what you mean about being too nervous to write a thread about it. I was too nervous when Hootie got fixed to make a thread. But everything worked out fine!!!!!!!!

Glad Annika's surgery is over for both of you. Your right, you would have gotten
lots of prayer's if we knew. I feel bad that you went through it alone.

Layla had teeth taken out about 3 weeks ago.. came home.. ate like nothing was wrong! other than being groggy for about 3 days.. it didn't affect her at all.. i hope you have the same outcome

Oh man, I thought I missed the thread. I was like I didn't know Annika was having surgery.

I got very worried when I read the title of this thread since I didn't remember reading anything abbout it. I'm glad she is doing okay! Give her big hugs and kisses from all of us.

thank you all for your warm concerns . . yes, she is quite back to normal although I did not let her play with tiger much until late . . .the doctor advised to make sure she is no longer groggy!

Ahhh...little sweetheart! Maddie and I send kisses and get well wishes to Anika! It IS so scary to put them through surgery...I'm so glad she did well!!!

What's wrong with Annika
 
I thought Annika was doing so well after the surgery but I was completely wrong. My VET called me saturday morning checking on her and I of course said she was doing great. Shortly thereafter I administered her first pain med. An hour later she threw up and a few hours more and her poop became runny. By evening she seemed back to normal again and her stoll was back to normal. I started noticing yesterday that her right ear won't go up. Could this be a result of the anaesthesia perhaps? When she gets excited, it does go up, but otherwise it is complete down (just the right one). Do you think it will eventually go back up again :confused:

I did not administer another pain med until I talked to my VET today (already called and awaiting a return call) so she was unable to eat much. She also does not want to drink enough water :( Other than that she is perfectly normal.

Caren, did not get a chance to go to the grocery over the weekend. I am going to today so will try to remember to grab a bottle.
