Hello - New Member-will need help :) I found the YorkieTalk Forum and I am going to need some help. I have my 8 year old Yorkie, Grand Dog, who has arrived from Florida and will be spending a great deal of time with me in NC. He has been to his new Vet and in the past has had some issues with separation anxiety, chewing on his feet, legs and skin issues, not to mention he thinks he is BOSS! LOL I will have some questions and I can see that there is a lot of "help" on this board. I will try to give his history, food, shampoo, treats, etc. that may be helpful with my questions. Thank you in advance for suggestions. It is late and I will return another day!:animal-pa |
Welcome!!! you will definately find all your answers here. Congrats and can't wait to see pictures.:welcome4: |
You'll definitely find lots of information here!!! The one thing that will probably not change is that he not only thinks he is the Boss, he IS the boss. Just about every yorkie owner will tell you their yorkie owns them!!! |
you just found a great site for all the info you may need.. welcome |
Welcome to YT!! I think it's safe to say your yorkie isn't the only bossy one in the forum!!! As a type, mine is sitting next to me with a toy in his mouth trying to boss me into throwing it for him. Lol. |
Welcome to yorkietalk! Like everyone else said you will find all the information that you need here. I cant wait to see pics of him! |
Welcome to YT. I hope you like it here and that someone will have the answers to your questions. |

hi i found a lot of help with training books and a show called the dog whispered, not sure if you have natl geographic channel where you are, but this guy is good-you have to watch it a few times to get what he does, but basically -retraining yourself-and your dog. i didnt realize it, but my dog thought she was the leader of the pack and i was allowing it... ps-separation anxiety can sometimes be helped with a cage-type kennel -where they can still see out-and a kong type toy filled with peanut butter or some other yummy treat (your local petsmart or someplace has these chewing toys that are awesome for those lonely chewers) Good luck! there's a ton of information in these threads i've found helpful too. :) welcome! |

new member Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, and a new yorkie mom. I have been blessed with my new baby - My sweet Sophia.. aka Sophie.. she is now 7 mths old now and the light of my life. She came to me at 8 wks old.. I have enjoyed reading this forum so much I decided to join. Koodos to all of you, just reading this forum has taught me so much, Primrose, and Whispers mom.. are an inspiration to me. I hope to learn loads more. My lil sophie is a doll. and as soon as i figure out how to post pics.. I will share my baby with all of you. She is AKC reg. and is as healthy as can be. I have had thoughts of breeding, but have not decided, my baby still seems too small, at 7mths she is still under 3lbs, and her mom has way too many un answered questions. So will keep you posted as she gets older. In yorkie love LIL SOPHIES MOM :) :aimeeyork :animal-pa |
