What shampoo smells the best And last the longest right now i use CC gold on gold for my furbaby, but i noticed that the smell dosent last that long. I want a product that's sensitive on my baby's skin and also smells good and the smell last long what do you suggest? |
I use this shampoo: http://www.highcascadeemus.com/xcart...3&cat=5&page=1 I swear the smell lasts for 7 days. It also is a flea repellant. I have not had to use Frontline since I started using this shampoo. And it has Emu Oil in it, which is EXCELLENT for sensitive or dry skin. I love this stuff!   |
thanks rlc i think i am going to try it  |

They sell a trial size, too, that is only like $4 or $5. You could get that and try it before you buy the big bottle. The trial size comes ready to use. The big bottle is a concentrate and when you get it, you have to mix it with water before you use it. |
I use Best shot from Petedge.com. It's on sale right now. You get the shampoo, conditioner and finishing spray for $16.50 It smells good and lasts all week. The spray is good for between bath brushing, it's been great on matts. |
I use Plush Puppy. It's a little more expensive then regular shampoos/conditioners but it's totally worth it. :D |
I use CC day to day and the smell lasts fine for me. I can still smell it on her sometimes 2 weeks after her bath. Granted she doesn't go outside that often to get dirty. |

Yes, you dilute it with water before you use it. If you get the trial size, it comes ready to use, already diluted. |
Hello - I was wondering if anyone uses Johnson&Johnson's baby shampoo. I wash my doggie everyday or every other day (she is a messy eater, old and rather susceptible to infections from going to the bathroom itself in the past), so I figured I do not need to use anti flea/tick shampoo. However, I do not know if it is also considered to be gentle for dogs as it is for babies... I use the one with lavendar scent, and it makes her fluffy with nice scent... Thank you! :animal-pa |
I've been using the baby shampoo because I heard it kills fleas? Also I like to use a gentle one in case it gets in their eyes by mistake. |
I love the way our PetSilk smells! Yummmy! For the big dogs, I use the Furminator DeShedding Shampoo/Conditioning Solution and they smell WONDERFUL!!!! I haven't tried many others, but like to hear what everyone else uses! |

I love the smell!! There is another shampoo that I like also it is made by Espree and it is the Milk and Honey Bath, you can just imagine how that smells and it lasts for a while. Great on the yorkies!! At the shop we use Bark Basic Honey Almond and all of our clients love it and the way their dogs smell, it is a very light fragrance. We have used it at the shop for over 10 years. We have tried other shampoo but my groomers and bathers complain and want the Honey Almond back. There are so many great smelling shampoos out there but you have to remember that the more they smell the more problem you may have with allergies....just a thought for the dogs with sensitive skin... Petsilk is my favorite! |
To those of you who use human products on your dog this article might be of interest. http://members.cox.net/jrogan/shampoo.html Basically human products have a different ph than dog products. Also, be on the lookout for dry and flaky skin if you use human products. This won’t happen overnight, but it’s easier to prevent skin problems than cure them. Nancy |
bath time!!! Was wondering how often I can give my guy a bath, he looks great when so clean, can he get a bath each week? or is that too much:) |
I have been told not more than once a week and rinse, rinse, rinse. Nancy |
Once a week is perfect and is what my vet recommends for a healthy skin and coat. But you can wash more often if it is needed. Just use a good shampoo and conditioner and rinse well. When we are at a show the dogs are washed every day and I know of some people that wash again before groups if there is time. |
I use Tropiclean. The puppy shampoo smells like coconut, and the conditioning spritz is papaya and kiwi. The shampoo smell doesn't seem to last that long, but I spray the spritz every couple of days to freshen up. I have had several people say that Chewy smells like a Pina Colada! |

I did not even think of pH issue with baby shampoo as it is gentle enough for human babies... I use Janson hair products for myself, they are sold at organic food supermarkets, and every bottle states they are at pH 7. I should try that on my pup too.. I remember one of the groomers I have been to, they recommended dish detergent, though I have never used it. For some reason, "Perfect Coat" I have tried long time ago on my pup gave her flaking skin... I am not sure if it is because she is an old pup. |
I use Buddy Wash and Buddy Rinse by Cloud Star and it smells WONDERFUL!! I love love love the smell of this stuff! :D The scent lasts quite a while too! Also, the Gold Metal Pets Puppy Shampoo by Cardinal smells GREAT! It is also great because there are no dyes, and it is tearless. I think the smell of this shampoo lasts even LONGER on Stedman than the Buddy Wash (This is what I used on Stedman when he was a baby, and I swear the smell lasts a week or MORE!), however - the Buddy Wash/Rinse does better on his hair. But - I have never had a problem with Stedman smelling (once he went 2 weeks without being bathed  after I had my surgery) and he didn't even smell then! So anyway, I use the Buddy Wash/Rinse because it does SO well on his hair (also it is all natural) but - if you want a shampoo with a scent that lasts a SUPER long time, then I would HIGHLY recommend the Gold Metal Pets Puppy Shampoo  |
This is the best!!! I love the smellhttp://www.touchofmink.com/prod_details.asp?id=15 |
Not sure if you're talking about human shampoo or doggie shampoo at any rate for myself I use Pantene. I was using Biolage but found it to be too greasy. For my pups I absolutely LOVE Paul Mitchell or John Paul as they call it. The detangler smells GREAT and for light color pups they have a shampoo that is equivelent to the human So Silver and it makes the lighter coats come out really bright and keeps the yellow out. It's ideal for Maltese. My little one is a Morkie (Maltese/ Yorkie) and has champagne color hair. She looks like a champagne colored Yorkie. LOL. Throws everyone off. Ha ha. My other three full Yorkies I use the John Paul puppy shampoo. It's really gentle on them. And, for Bella after shampooing I always use Biolage deep conditioner which works wonders on her hair. Keeps it real healthy and I've noticed it has really helped it grow out. Hmmm, I guess my post is a bit long. Sorry. Anyway John Paul Pet shampoos, conditioners really rock. I previously used Buddy Shampoo/conditioner which is great too but the J.P. products surpass it. Elaine. |
