How do you know if he's cold? Hi All, I live in Southern California, and it gets a bit chilly at night time. Of course not as chilly as the states toward the East... I can't tell if Peanut is cold at night. I mean, I'm freezing at night, but thats because I don't really like winter weather. He only wears a t shirt to sleep, and he doesn't like being covered in a blanket in his dog bed. Sometimes when he is napping he shivers a little, but I can't tell if its from the cold or just some natural reaction when he sleeps. Do you think he should be wearings sweaters and pjs to sleep? I don't want him to catch a cold. Thanks! Peggy |
How cold is your house. If he has a nice snuggly bed out of the draft, I doubt that he is getting cold. Also they have those slipper beds where they dog can crawl into the toe part and stay warm. |
If he's cold, he'll shiver - neither of my dogs sleep with clothes on and only wear jackets to go outside. Just make sure he's got a nice warm bed and lots of blankets to snuggle up in. The 'shivering' while he's sleeping is probably him having a dream (like those running dreams where their legs move as if they're running). |
I feel his ear and its cold when he is cold and warm when he is warm. |
yea you can also feel the nose. My mom said when dogs are cold their noses are really cold and when they are normal or hot their noses are warm or hot. I think it works because i try it with teddy and when he's cold his nose is cold. |
I notice when Gracie gets cold, she snuggles up to me as tight as she can. I have noticed her snuggling tight less since she got her new fleece PJs. |
