Hey maybe call the poison control number?? Just a thought |
Free Poison Control Telephone Number FREE 24 houKansas State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital is offering a rs poison control hotline for pet owners and veterinarians. 1+785-532-5679 is the number and the service has been available since 1969. Dr Oehme, a vet and professor in toxicology and pathology oversees the hotline. Dr Oehme offers these suggestions: Be patient. The person answering the phone may have to take a few minutes to consult the vet on duty. I would probably just call my vet & check to be sure but if you can't do that, why not try the free poison control number at KSU? Good Luck & please let us know. It may be one of ours that chews up a pen next time.:) |
I don't know, i've never heard of this. Calling posion control would probally be best, I don't know if they would suggest inducing vomiting or what:confused: I hope your furbabes okay though! |
if you call poison control, it will cost you $55.00 just to call! I would call a different vets office and hope maybe someone can give you a answer. |
I was just about to say the same thing about the money. I have even talked to the vet and they said it would cost them for information regarding this so, it will cost me. I'm from louisiana, and i'm still trying to recover from hurricane Rita so, money is not to handy at this time. |
I just called my vet for advice and she said as long as their is no diahheria(sp ?)vomiting or lathargic behavior, she should be ok, but you should moniter her very closely. She also said that it might have helped to induce vomiting right after she ingested the pen ink. But she did give me this number for you to call. It's animal poison control, I'm not sure if you have to pay for it though, I would ask them if you have to or not. Here's the number, hope it helps and i hope your furkids alright! Sending hugs 1-888 426-4435 |
SHE IS NOT YET ACTING LIKE SHE'S SICK. BUT, SHE'S NOT RUNNING AROUND EITHER. SO, I'M CONFUSED  . I HAVE NO CLUE:confused: ALSO, MY PERSONAL VET IS NOT IN THE OFFICE TODAY DUE TO A COLD . AND HE WOULD BE THE ONE NOT 2 CHARGE ME A THING FOR THIS. JUST MY LUCK. WELL, I GUESS I REALLY HAVE NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO JUST WAIT AND SEE. I'LL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED NO MATTER WHAT. |
;) Thank You All So Much;) |
$Poison Control? Even the poison control # posted here? $55? It says free. She maybe able to feel that you're scared/worried so its upsetting her.Theres not alot of ink in a pen chances are she just stained her tongue. But if she is acting sick/..whats $55 to save your dogs life. Better safe then sorry. |
