Water bottles Does anyone out there have their yorkie drink out of the water bottle that attaches to a cage/crate? I had trained my shih-tzu to drink from the water bottle because it drove me crazy to see his beard and face soaking wet, and eventually it would have that stinky mildew smell. The water bottle is so much cleaner, I was just wondering.... |
2 Attachment(s) I bought a water bottle because I thought it would be a great thing to have while Connor grows into his show coat. I got a pic from a website for a holder but haven't built it yet. Any ideas on how to get him started on it? Here's a pic of the holder, if you have an easier idea I'd love to hear it. |
Mine all have water bottles, they don't drink from a bowl. I keep them all in a full coat so if they drink out of a bowl, their hair gets soaked and they drip water everywhere. It is so much easier to use water bottles. Another plus is that they can't spill water everywhere like they would do with a bowl. I have water bottles on both the inside and outside of their playpens. So whether they are in the pen or out, they always have water bottles to drink out of. I have never had to train any of them to drink from a water bottle. They just go over to it and lick it and they have it all figured out after a couple of licks. |
Grayson drinks from a water bottle! I think it is great |
Little Bit had no trouble adjusting to the water bottle either.:) |
Mojo drinks out of both (he is never crated), but when we go out, he has a water bottle (not a bowl). He hasn't had a problem drinking from a bottle and everyone thinks it is sooo cute! I definitely like the water bottle better than a bowl! - but we do keep bowls of fresh water down all the time. Oh, when we are on the go, we also will order a small cup of water for him too....this helps, and keeps his beard out of the water! |
You must not crate your baby...wouldn't it be easier to just have it on the crate? If you don't, though, then that way that you have looks just fine. As long as they can get the water, right? |
