Good or Bad?
 
I'm looking through the classifieds and I found a female yorkie puppy for free.. I got really excited.. so I e-mailed them and hopefully its a good deal =] Any advice?

I would be very careful, alot of those ads are scams. If the person is from Nigeria or Cammaroon or any other country outside the USA it's a scam. But it may be real, which would be SO awesome!:)

Hi, be very careful. If they ask you to pay for shipping only and want you to pay by western union back away fast!! Probably a scam going on!! If you live close to this person I would go see the dog and ask tons of questions. Why are they wanting to find the dog a new home?? It could be innocent but most people know how much these dogs sell for, so someone willing to give one away for free is definately something to question. If they truly are looking for a new home and are good people that simply can't keep the dog I'd ask for vet papers and make sure the dog is healthy. Be careful and good luck to you:D

I found 2 of them and they are both in boston which is really close for finding yorkies.. AND they say they are willing to deliver locally.. either way I would meet the dog first and have the papers and all that before i brought it home and especially vet papers that say that the pup is okay

Thanks.. the only problem is I think they said around 9 wks.. which some breeders say is much too early.. but if it is luckily my neighbor whom i am veryu close with used to be a dog breeder and trainer but retired after 30+ years of doing it

Your right 9 weeks is a little early. Do you happen to know how much the puppy weighs? I would never suggest taking the baby away that early but some things happen for a good reason :D The good thing is that your not nuts and know you'll have to take extra care of the baby and keep a very close eye out for anything bad. (I guess that goes for all babies but I'm sure you got my point, LOL) Your being smart and are going to have help. I'm sure everything will work out for the best. Maybe the people don't know 9 weeks is a little young. Perhaps they could keep the baby for a few more weeks?? Good Luck with everything :D

Shes only a pound.. so im a little scared about the size and age =/ but if I do end up getting her she should be okay.. She'll be ub good care... Theres a vet down the street for emergencies and my neighbor can take care of everything else.

I'm sure everything will work out. You are thinking ahead like a good mommy :) It's scary when they are so small. My one little girl is 1 yr. 7 mths and only weighs 2 lbs. My other baby girl is 5 lbs. at 14 mths. Both are very happy and healthy :animal36 I know many say the little ones have problems but I've been blessed so far (knock on wood) Pia (the smaller one) is so full of life. I hope you get the baby becuase I can tell it will have a wonderful home.:aimeeyork

Aww thanks! =] That makes me feel better about getting a yorkie. I hope that this person e-mails me back I want to meet the pup.. I'm already thinking of names.. as bad as this sounds I want a girly name =] but so far the most i can come up with is Jasmine but I dont know.. maybe Nala after the Lion King? Any suggestions?

My girl's names are Princess Pia and Trixie Bear :D

i LOVE the name Lily but sadly 2 monthes ago my cousin named his dog Lily.. but I LOVE Chloe! So far I like Chloe best thanks =]

Thanks! I'm so suprised that there are two people doing it. One of them when I asked the weight now and what she will probably end up being she sad shes about 1.7 now nd will probably get to about 7-8 pounds... doesn'tthat seem like the pup is really young?

ahhh There is not one decent breeder near me! I swear that those free ones are scams now! They all say they have to ship them even though the ad says from Boston. I went to this site and they seem well resected and I may have found some help. I got a name of a breeder but shes kinda far away, and I don't even know if she has any puppies right now. So the site offered to tell me of a reputable breeder that they know are trust worthy. So that made me happier. I just really want my pup!:(

Girl...I know how you are feeling! I don't have my yorkie baby yet and it is frustrating at times. I am planning on getting mine in the spring...so I am here all the time looking at everyones precious babies and learning so much about yorkies! At least you are being smart about it and not falling for a scam. I am anxious about getting my baby also, but I know that researching and finding a great breeder will be worth it in the end. :D

Thanks.. I just can't believe how many scams there are. My mom happens to know a chihuahua breeder and for the last few days has been telling me to just get a chihuahua it will be easier to find! And I keep telling her that I did my research and I want a yorkie! I am constantly e-mailing breeders asking for referals to breeders near me.. Sadly the most I got was a name and shes kinda far. But they also told me that they would refer me to a trustworthy breeder who ships..

I say if you want a yorkie, get a yorkie. If you settle, you may risk regretting the "other" pooch and still yearn for your yorkie. Just wait it out. Your pet will find you! At least u didn't get scamed!!:mad:

dont give up hun u will find the perfect baby that u are wanting,, besides alot of times we have yt memebers that have puppies to sell also so keep cking the site too and look in the forsale or wanted section too gl..

Kayah was 1 pound when i got her (12 weeks). I was supposed to get her at 9 weeks but her breeder wouldn't let me take her. Which now I know, was a good thing. Dogs (of any breed) are just too fragile to go home so young
