Jumps out of the expen Bernie has learned how to jump out of the expen. This would be fine if he was able to use the pee pads or hold it when he has to go. But, he's still a puppy. So I guess I have a couple of options and I thought I'd get your advice. I can: a) get a larger (taller) expen b) see if there are "lids" or covers for the expen. c) other options...? What do you think? |
Get a taller x pen. I have the 3 foot one. |
I do believe you can also get a cover. Try petedge.com. Oh boy, my little Jilly jumps like a pogo stick almost as high as the pen in excitement to see us but never close to the edge. Good luck! |
How in the world does he jump out??? You could use a crate. I have a big crate for chewy so he can move around and play. |
I'd get a taller xpen. I donno i'd just feel safer that way..and I would'nt have to worry about the cover falling over. |
Venus was a climber, so she'd climb out of hers! I put a piece of plywood in the doorway to keep her in the kitchen till she got a little older, and better potty trained. The plywood slides behind the refrigerator, and is not quite 3 foot tall. Does keep her in one room. I wasn't about to buy another pen! If she can climb outta one....she could climb out of another one. |

I had a crate for him when I got him in the beginning. But I have 2 and I'd rather have them have lots of room to play. I guess I'll try to get a taller expen and put my current one in the shed. |
Isn't it amazing just how high these little guys can jump? Fancy can jump over her gate when she feels the need, like when someone comes in or goes out and she's not involved. One morning I raised the gate thinking.. aahha, she just looked at me, flattened out like a pancake and went under it! Clever little ones they are!! :) |
Ooooh one of my biggest fears is Howie learning how to jump over his gates and xpen! He's potty trained only to a certain extent. Hopefully the taller xpen will hold him in! |
I recently switched from an ex-pen to a large wire dog crate. It's a double door, folding model. It's a little heavier, but it's still easy enough to fold it up and move it around. |
