diarrhea and vomit....AGAIN
 

HEy Guys!!

So ZOe has a VERY sensitive stomach yet he finds a way to eat everything no matter how careful I am with the garbage or hpw high I put the food. I do not know what he got his paws on this time but whatever it is, it is causing Zoe to throw up and have diarrhea.

It frustrates me because I am so carefeul with him yet he gets these stomach upsets EVERY month. I am not even exaggerating when I say EVERY month. There has not been one month that has gone by in the 12 months that I've had him that I have not brought him to the vet (usually for diarrhea/vomit) he had coccidia but is now clear of it. Can it come back?

I have him on the rice diet right now whit forti flora (culture). IF this dies not pass by monday...off tot he vet we go...AGAIN!

That sounds so familar...and I completely believe you that it is once a month. (There were times I felt like with our Magic is was ever 2 weeks!)

We finally changed vets and the new vet worked with us by removing all treats and adding yogurt, but with that still not working the vet changed her to a special diet......and that has worked great!! (She is on Purina DCO which is a high fiber diet.....as the vet figured out the problem was really the way her body was breaking down foods - so to correct the problem she needs the high fiber.)

The other thing our new vet taught us is that these sensative pups have a hard time staying what he calls "stable" and therefore tend to "catch/develop" all the things like coccidia, giardia, etc. Because we took lots of precautions, but still Magic would show up with something new.

Hang in there.....I might suggest if it has gone on this long to ask you vet about a special diet once you get Zoe better. (Our vet also supplied us with some prescription diarriah medicine to just keep at home - just in case something happened at night or the weekend....to help until we could get her back in to see him!)

I hope Zoe reacts positively to your rice and gets feeling better soon! It is so hard to watch them feel bad and not be able to do anything to help!

I know....its terrible that he has such stomach issues. I will def check with the vet on getting him on another diet but I feed him innova evo which has a decent amount of fiber.

I dunno.
