Yorkie Thanksgiving Dinner?
 

So....what did everyone's Yorkies get to eat for Thanksgiving????
Please share....think it will be fun to see what ever furbaby ate!

Mojo got some chicken, some mashed sweet potatoes and some carrots. (not much, but plenty for him.....he isn't a big eater).

Since I am a new yt mom I was just precautious. So Mimi had the chicken and her normal doggie food. I did let her nibble on some of the apples from the fruit salad. She goes nuts for the red delicious ones!:woof:

The monkeys got some baked chicken and cooked carrots :) They loved every little bite of it.

aww, my poor babies ate their regular food. my bad, but we stick to their food and of course they did get extra treats yesterday. I also had a few packs of a soft food they like, its the variety packs you add to their dry food, beef stew, bbq, and something else and they love that. so i added half a pack for each one at their morning feeding. they eat it like i do dressing and turkey so it must be good.

Mine got a few tiny pieces of carefully selected white turkey meat for a Thanksgiving treat -- his actual meal was his normal kibble though.
Ben had a guest for Thanksgiving. My son and his GF brought their little poodle. She and Ben ran and played non-stop until they left today. Ben is tuckered out -- sleeping by my feet. :)

Teddy just had some rice and peas

Since we already had so much illness with Luna, we're pretty paranoid about giving her any human food at all. But I did hand feed her a small sliver of turkey breast (from the middle of the breast, so there would be no seasoning there) and she LOVED it.

Bruce had turkey, specially made no onions or strange spices dressing (just made with chicken stock, celery and carrots) and some green beans. He even had his own pumpkin pie as nutro is now making canned doggie desserts and he loved it!!!! I know this was probably not too great for him, but I just could not leave him out on a holiday and the vet said in small portions these things are fine!

Cooper and Carley had some white meat turkey Thanksgiving day, and all was fine. Friday we gave them just a tiny bit with their regular food. Friday night, Carley was feeling none to good, so no more turkey for her. She has the delicate stomach in the family...ole Coop's seems to be cast-iron. I actually am good about sticking to their regular diet and certain treats...my husband on the other hand, calls me "mean mommy" and trys to sneak in the not so good stuff. I am forever catching him giving just a tiny bite of this or that...he knows it isn't good for Carley, but he can't seem to help himself, he is just such a pushover for these two. I told him when they go for their first year check up and the vet says they are fat... he will be the one explaining.

Shelby & Seymour had a small taste of turkey. Shelby is watching her weight.... and so we didn't want her to fall off the wagon! Actually we weighed her today and she has lost 2 ounces!!!! She isn't terribly overweight, but we want her to be as healthy as possible. She was starting to get a bit round.... I hope that her "Mommy" is as successful as she is when I start my diet AFTER the holidays!!! :grin2:

Emma started Thanksgiving Day with some "appetizers" from my brother in-law's bachelor's house kitchen floor. This included popcorn, bits of pizza crust, and crackers :eek:

Then she realized that if she stuck around the kitchen, we'd be bound to drop something, so she got pieces of bread, a pretzel stick, and I'm sure many others snuck her cheese, crackers and carrots :mad:

I gave her some bites of turkey in the kitchen, and some green beans. I also know that she had mashed potatoes too, and LOVED them!\

Needless to say, she had an upset tummy later that night :( but is back to her normal self now!

Abby (my golden) and Alphy got some rice and chicken mixed together. I also slipped them a couple of green beans. Abby got a few more little pieces of this and that while I was cooking. :D

Alphy licked all the silverware in the dishwasher, :p and was constantly underfoot in the kitchen. It was hilarious. He just stood there staring at the spot between my feet in case I dropped anything.

Well - as had been my custom for more than 60 years - my dogs got a little bit of everything.

I cooked a turkey breast the day before Thanksgiving - along with a huge turkey ---so we'd have exta white meat (fir everyone to take home for sandwiches). So - my dogs started out eating turkey that day.

I think, over the years, the favorite food any of my dogs have ever had is turkey. They seem to like it more than steak, other beef, chicken, or anything. Perhaps this is because they rarely get it. But with the turkey all gone today and everything cleaned up --- my dogs are still sitting in front of the refrigerator waiting and hoping for just one more bite.

PS: We've never had an upset stomach at my house from Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Except for the men - who swear they are going to die and can do nothing more than sit on the sofa and watch sports the rest of the evening ----until it's time for desert, which of course, they can eat.

I'm sure those of you whose little guys have sensitive stomachs - have to be careful about their diet - but my dogs have iron stomachs and can eat anything (portions are still watched, however --- because anyone can get sick eating too much......)

Howie had his normal kibble along with the blue buffalo wet food I usually mix in, but I got it in the turkey meatloaf flavor. :)

He did get some turkey that night and the next morning he vomitted as soon as he woke up. :( He could have snuck something else besides the turkey that caused him to get sick though.
