Our first road trip Im so excited (and nervous), me and Chloe are taking our first road trip tommorrow to missouri for thanksgiving. Chloe has never stayed at someone elses house before so this will be interesting. Wish us luck! I'll try to take lots of pictures. Does anyone have any pointers? Or anything I need to be sure and pack for chloe that I may not think of? Im packing food, clothes, diaper, the basics, etc. |
I am sure Chloe will do just fine. Maybe she will sleep the whole way like Rocky does when I go to Houston. I always make sure I take one of his comfy blankets and a few of his favorite toys. Make sure to grap some bags for when she potties at the potty stops and your travel water bowl. I hope you have a safe trip and lots of fun. |
I am sure they will be fine. Since I live in VA and go to school in Philadelphia, Brooklyn and Britney have taken MANY 4 or 5 hour car rides. Make sure not to forget anything! One time I accidently forgot their food and it was IMPOSSIBLE to find since it isn't carried at most pet stores. I normally take some paper towels in case we have any accidents... Once or twice Brooklyn has gotten car sick. |
Chloe will be fine! She'll be fine at their house too. Have a safe trip! |
Where ya going in Missouri? I am heading to South Arkansas for Thanksgiving. Who knows we may pass each other on the road. =) |
Hi Shana!!!! Is it just you and Chloe going? I would just bring some of Chloe's favorite toys so she feels right at home. I don't know about Chloe but Diamond doesn't like a lot of people handling her all at once! It tends to freak her out or stress her out. Maybe carry some Nutrical just incase? Happy Travels! :animal36 |
I would bring baby wipes and colorox disinfecting wipes (in case she throw up in the car). Also bring paper towels (maybe 1 roll). |

Howie and I take many, many car trips. I'm lucky b/c he's pretty good in the car. I have a car harness for him that's padded in the chest area and you can loop the seat belt through it so he can't run around and is restricted in case of an accident. I've tried putting Howie in the back seat but he FREAKS. So I buckle him into the passenger seat and turn the air bag off on that side. He has a toy but never plays with it. Usually he just hangs out. The one tip I would have is to bring a bottle of water and a paper cup. If we're at a traffic light or stopped I'll pour some water into the cup and he drinks right out of it if he's thirsty. Have a happy thanksgiving and a safe trip! |
Lucky for me I wont be driving, Im going with my parents so my dad is driving and I can give chloe lots of attention :p so I dont think she will be too bad in the car. I just hope she behaves at my grandma's house, they are not really dog people so Im hoping chloe will win them over. So far I have her crate, an enclosed dog carrier, and a front pouch dog carrier (chloe loves this and loves to ride in the car in this carrier) and her blanket, a bed, several toys, diapers (in case of any accidents at grandma's or in the car), 2 harness & leashes, clothes (several outfits, coats and nightgowns), 2 sets of boots, food, missing link, treats, bullysticks, bottled water, portable bowls, brush/comb, conditioner spray, and I think thats about it. Am I missing anything? Im leaving my house in 7 hours and Ive decided Im just going to work all night instead of going to bed. Dont really see the point in sleeping when I gotta get up at 4 am  |
Are you kidding, grandma won't want to let her go! I always bring some Nutrical just in case they get all nervous and stop eating. It's probably not essential for a healthy adult, but it couldn't hurt to have it. Have a blast! I hope you get some snow! |
