Looking for info. Hello All, I am not yet a yorkie parent but hopefully soon. I have been reading everything I can on Yorkies. However, I haven't been able to find out exactly what I should expect to pay. I live in the south eastern part of Virginia (just in case price is related to area). I am talking with a breeder in Calland, VA and have asked what I need to put down for deposit but I haven't heard anything from her yet. I am thinking that her prices are around $1200 and her pups are AKC registered. I have recently spoken with another lady closer to home that is asking for $975 for her female pups and they are CKC registered. Do these prices sound okay? Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks |
i would rather have a akc then ckc you can dual reg an akc dog the smaller they are the more they cost. i have seen them from $300 up to $3000 welcome to yt |
Thank you for your response :) Thank you so much for your reply. I am trying to make a decision and it is a hard one. I going today to have a look at the CKC pups. I guess one of my worries is whether they will be healthy. My daugthers would be heart broken as I if the puppy wasn't well soon after adopting. I guess I will go and take a look around and see what kind of feeling I get from the breeder. Many thanks, Burnsperry |
When I was looking for a yorkie, I found them from $500 and up. I found a girl that was $500 near me, but honestly she didn't look like what I thought a yorkie should look like, and her parents didn't either. She was CKC registered. I found a couple of breeders asking that price, but their yorkies were not what I was looking for. Then I found my little girl Lily, she was $1400, and looked exactly what I thought a yorkie should look like, and so did her parents. She is AKC registered. She is very small too. I think as long as you get a look at the parents, the surroundings where the pup is coming from and the puppy of course it doesn't matter the price, low or high. I honestly don't know what the difference in the CKC and AKC is, but have always been told to look for AKC. I just know that around here if they were asking a low price for a yorkie, they didn't really look like a yorkie. I wish I could have found what I was looking for for $500. So go look at parents and where the pup is coming from, then decide. You may just find a good deal. |
